Comments alternate email: babswillen@bellsouth.net (only on phone) Watching Ken Burns series on VN on PBS; didn't know how long the conflict was going on before US actually entered with troops. I wish he would have consulted you (maybe he did & I just haven't seen your credits) but your input would be invaluable. You deserve credit for your work and service and that as live Taps playing Marine for military funerals. Babs 561-5710-2251

Comments I was trapped in that ammo dump for 8 plus hours, I was on guard duty from FSLG bravo when we were hit. I am searching for anyone that may know someone that was there. I was assigned to a machine gun bunker under a tower next to 7th engineers that day. The photos of the ammo dump blowing on 20 June 1968 brought back many memories both good and bad. I found your web page while doing research, hoping to find other survivors of that event.

Comments Thank you for taking the time to share these letters. My boyfriend is in the Army now, although thankfully not deployed & reading all these letters makes me think of all the letters we wrote to each other during BCT & AIT. Thank you for your service & thank you to Maxie, for she who waits also serves!

Comments Would you mind if I used these letters as a source for an essay in English 112? I need the class to become a Nurse and I have really found so much in common with reading the letters to Maxie and reading the letters I get from my husband who is in Afghanistan now, for the second time. He was in Iraq once too. I think it's funny how things seem to have not changed since the war then and the wars now, I guess war is war. Glad there is so much love and honesty in those letters. I think that it is what gets each person by, the soldier and the wife. Thanks.

Comments Thanks for being there. I was there in 1961-62 before the major war effort really got started. We were called "advisors". My battle field was an office in Saigon. Never fired a gun, nor was I ever fired at. Thank you very much for your service. A grateful American... gene

Comments Thank you for sharing these letters. I notice guests entries from Vietnamese people too. Your letters have touched many. My brother was a marine, younger than the Vietnam veterans, but a marine all of his life in Semper Fi attitude. Wishing you many more years together.
