Comments: Love the site: just discovered it, have only been using computers a year: "too old to learn" finally got to me. Have all the Rifleman episodes in my library. Mark and I were the same age: sort of 'grew up' together. Wish the show could have continued, at least until Mark grew up and maybe married. They sure don't make TV like they used to.

Comments: I just got off your Rifleman website after reading Michael's Rifle Pages...he sure did some thorough research, including facts about the rifle I was not aware of...I think his research to a large degree validates what I e-mailed earlier... ...one sentence that said (more or less) that the..rapid fire mechanism was designed to prevent Chuck's finger from being punctured by the trigger (I'm sure he meant tightly squeezed against the trigger)..and that "rapid fire mechanism" does not refer to the screw in the lever... but to modifying the lever to have a loop instead of a narrow flat area where the trigger hand is inserted (a quibble with words on my part). Anyway. it's one helluva website. -The Rifleman Producer A. Laven

Comments: Hello Mike, Thank you for the reply. I am 5'9" as well and still wonder how you don't get hit with the rifle! I have a new Winchester , I think its a model 94. It has a 14 inch barrel and I still had a hard time spinning it. My lever is not as big as yours since it is from a catalog and it doesn't have the set screw. I know it doesn't work like the older Winchesters. I love the Rifleman and your site. I watch it every night on the Westerns Channel. When I was a boy I got the toy rifle for Christmas. I put it by the door of my bedroom like Lucas did. Sometimes it would end up in bed with me! Thank you again, Tom Lemmon

Comments: Hi Mike,I enjoyed the clip on you tube. I know how much practice was involved, your hard work paid off, you hit everything right on the mark, not just the use of the rifle but talking about the ideals and morals of the show. I'm 49, and still a fan of the rifle and the show, have the dvds and they are on the western channel twice a day, i'm sure you know.I have a prop winchester with a smaller, but oval loop that was a gift, it doesn't fire and it seems a little heavier than it should, whether its not balanced or what, anyway, just curious about info on obtainig the rifle, etc. So, from one sodbuster to another, Thanks Mike!

Comments: I forgot to mention this sidelight relating to the Rifleman gun.....for what it's worth.....once we got the "go ahead" to make the series, Jules Levy got to thinking that it we should figure something out that would distinguish McCain's rifle from the Winchester which was standard in all western's. The three of us agreed that anything that would give the rifle a fancy or elaborate look would be counter productive...it still had to have the identity of the classic Winchester...so we got nowhere...until one of us suggested that we go to the Stembridge Gun Rental Shop located at Paramount studios...it was the place which all the studios used to rent guns when their property department needed additional guns, rifles, etc. for a western...as well as all the guns for independent companies that made westerns....we hoped that maybe at the shop where period guns were a way of life we might find an idea...it was decided that I should go together with Chuck Connors...and so we made an appointment with Mr. Stembridge (damn, I can't rememb

Yours looks nearly identical, and If you can pass along the information it would be greatly appreciated. Yes, a '92 Win is on my dream list!! Thanks, Jeff

Comments: Hi Mike, I was thrilled to see a web site like yours. I'm one of the many baby boomers to grow up watching the Rifleman. I'd appreciat you letting me know when you'll be making the rifles again. It would be a great gift for my father, who watched the show with me growing up. Now I watch it along with my boys, and long for that simpler time. Once again thank you for all your efforts it was great reading. With warmest regards, Bill Young

Comments: Wow, this is truly amazing to have just discovered this site. Having been a huge fan of the Rifleman since a kid. Am now 55 years old. What more can I say. As a kid growing up I idolized Chuck Connors and played Cowboys & Indians pretending I was him. Even had a toy rifle like the real one. Now being able to watch old westerns on TV now having Direct TV. When are you going to start producing the replicas, as I am very interested in owning one. Congratulation on a fantastic website, and keep up the good work!! I will stay posted. Thanks for your time. Rick
