We experienced your Gershwin birthday concert on the Steinway/Rhapsody in Brentwood,TN!! This will always be the most touching presentation that we've been to. I'm currently gathering info. & music to share with a young student of mine who has A.D.D. but has a heart for the piano and wants to learn to play ragtime, blues, etc. It's there, he just has a hard time making the hands do want he wants. Thanks so much for the wonderful inspiration. God Bless.

Was awed today as Dr. Glazier gave a master class at Eastern High School. I teach middle school music ed. and only wish we could have video'd today's class so others' could enjoy the talents and messages that were shared. Dr. Glazier was truly an inspiration to many today.

Richard: Fantastic webpage you've got here. Really informative and the links are great to all the Gershwin stuff, especially the old sheet music covers. You've put in a lot of work on this, it's easy to see. Regards, ------- Richard Dowling

Great website, and great body of work! I am currently a sophomore at the University of Indianapolis studying both music (bass voice) and communications. Music has always been a strong presence in my life, but I never really expected to be a music major in college...yet, here I am, and having a good time, in spite of all the work and practice time (practice can be fun, though...just need to find the way to make it that way). Anyway, I have always been a fan of American music, especially jazz, having grown up in a home surrounded by music and the arts. I happened upon the Vol. 1 of the Gershwin CDs in the campus bookstore one day, and instantly loved it! I was also disappointed that I could not go home to Valpo to hear you live (my family said that you were excellent, though, and I'm sure that that is not an exaggeration). As I'm typing this, I'm listening to Gershwin Vol. 2 (specifically to Dr. Rutkowski's arrangement...I'll have to tell him how I liked it), and loving the fact that there are performers and scholars out there

We have already written an email to you, and later found that we could put our comments on your site. Last night, 11/08/01, we had the extreme pleasure of attending one of your concerts at the Jones County Junior College in Ellisville, Mississippi. We thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful renditions, your style, and your performance that brought tears to our eyes. Thanks for a very wonderful evening.

Hi, Richard, I am 72 years old and a fan of Nelson and Jeanette since I saw them in Naughty Marietta - that was about 100 years ago! It made me happy to see that you included Nelson and Jeanette in your tribute to Hollywood musicals. So often they are sloughed off as if they never existed. I am sick to death of Gene Kelly dancing in the rain!!! It's as if that was the only musical every made in Hollywood! It was the romantic duo of N & J that made people line up around the corner of the movie houses to see their films. They were HUGE stars in their day and still have very active fan clubs. Also, another shining star who should be immortalized in the category of Hollywood musicals is Harry Warren, the great songwriter. Happy New Year! Catherine AKA Kitty Perez

I love the Gershwin Vol. II! I met Richard at a Community Concerts showcase down south last year. I acompanied trumpeter Josef Burgstaller. I'm interested in obtaining some of the sheet music for a few of the selections on the CD. Beautiful!

Richard--I'm having difficulty leaving an e-mail, due to problems with Microsoft Outlook. Any possibility of contacting me through either of 2 e-mail addresses I've left on your guestbook sign-in. Best to use the AOL e-mail address. Your playing is just beautiful---I remember hearing your short presentation at the Comm. Concerts showcase, when you quickly ran through one of the Gershwin arrangements (I don't remember which one--it was a sound check.) Anyway, please contact me when you can! Many thanks-Jonathan

We first heard you one Sunday afternoon a year or so back, at Tower Records, and were so happy to learn of your performance last weekend at the Crest. We were there and loved it! Thanks so much for keeping this incredibly beautiful, American music alive. I had hoped to obtain all your CD's at the Crest, but they were sold out of all but Remembrance and Discovery, which I did purchase and already have nearly worn out. How might I obtain any other of your CD's?

Hi! Just returned from a meeting in Eureka Springs, AR, where I saw Ruth Jordan and related to her our visit and your asking about her. She wanted your address, which I am sending, along with your web site. She's doing fine and I'm certain you will be hearing from her. Hope things are going well for you. Betty

Very imressive bio, etc. I have been researching a book on George White and the "Scandals" for 15 years. It's called "The Great WHITE Way". As you may know White was a genius, though not in an IQ sense. HE is the one who teamed Gershwin, Whiteman, DeSylva--and all the rest (as in Blue Monday Blues for instance). Would love to chat with you about my closets full of information! Good Luck with all Gershwin exploits!! Gary Flannery
