This is a great site. I went to Paduli several years ago for a visit to both the new town and the old earthquake ravaged town. We found out that many of the older records of these citizens were in fact destroyed in the earthquake. I plan to return one day soon to complete my visit. My grandfather came to this country, to Oyster Bay, under the name Luigi Vissichelli, but later changed it for some unknown reason

Entrambi genitori di mio padre erano nati a Paduli. � arrivato qui in America Nonno Antonio nel 1904 e poi nel 1910 Nonna Frasina. Fino ad un certo punto, c'erano communicazioni postali con i parenti che sono rimasti in Italia . Per qualsiasi motivo, noi (la famiglia Bozzello in America e la famiglia Bozzella in Italia) abbiamo perso proprio il contatto. Da piccola l'anima mia si sentiva molto legato ai miei origini padulesi (anche se non ci sono mai stata). Dieci anni fa, coll'aiuto delle zie pi� anziane ho riuscito di rifare il contatto, prima per telefono, poi di persona. Da quel punto, ci sono tornata due o tre volta all'anno. Fino ad ora rimane una delle cose pi� importante che ho mai fatto nella vita. Mi sento di aver tornato a casa.

The site is very informative. I have been looking for information on my ancestry for years. My fiancee and i are planning a trip to Italy and hopefully, will be making a stop in my ancestral town of Paduli. I have to say this website was the topic of discussion at our recent family party at the Italina-American Club in Oyster Bay, Long Island. Thanks again for the information

Complimenti for the great site. My grandfather, Antonio Massimiano, was born in Paduli and came to the States in 1911 with his father Saverio Massimiano and mother Maria Grazia Alfieri Tursi Massimiano. So these Padulesi settled in Pittsfield in western Massachusetts. I know they had cousins who settled in Oyster Bay, NY. My family and I visited Paduli a few years ago with our cousins who moved from Paduli up to Rome. I plan on going again soon, as I'm a studying in Rome right now for the spring, and my cousins go for special occasions such as Pasqua, la Festa di S. Rocco, etc.

Great Job My family descends from the 5 Grimaldi Siblings who came to America between 1900 and 1920 and settled in Brooklyn,NY. My father was born in Paduli in 1912 and we took him back in to see the old sites. It's great that you keep our history alive.

Alex; I am so happy to find something on Paduli. My Great grandfather, James Vincenzo Minicozzi who was sometimes refered to as Vincent, was born in Paduli December 15, 1887 and he came over on the S.S. Calabria. In 1930 he was living at 16 Irving Place in Oyster Bay, then moved to Locust St.or Ave. His parents were Frank Minicozzi and Filomena Ranaldo. I don't know anything about his parents. He was married to a woman by the last name of Micco, they had a son, Frank. She past away and later married my Great grandmother Rose Yannotti/Iannotti. She was born in East New York, Brooklyn. Her father, who I beleive is one of the donors of the Bell, Is Luigi Iannotti born about 1875. Her mother was Filomena Checola born about 1879 in Paduli as well. They all went St. Dominics Church in Oyster Bay and the Italian-American Club as well. I still have yet to find birth records in Paduli. My great grandfather Cosmo Sordi, from Paduli, had a grocery store in Oyster Bay with his wife. My grandparents, Nicholas A. Sordi, Sr, Esquire and Agnes (Cawley) Sordi still reside in Oyster Bay, where they raised their 8 children, all of whom attended St. Dominick's School. My parents Nicholas A. Sordi, Jr. Esq, and Eileen (Geoghegan) Sordi, both of whom attended St. Dominick's in Oyster Bay, live in Centerport, LI, New York. I have moved to Colorado to ski and raise my family Caroline and Lily Dewell together with my husband Andy Dewell. Thanks for creating this site!

This is a fantastic site. I'm so glad I found it. Imagine my surprise when I saw pictures of my grandparents on your site, (Pelligrino Ranaldo and Maria Capozza Ranaldo). Several years ago my wife and I visited Paduli and met our second cousins, Carmine, Raffaelle, and Silvio Ranaldo. They wanted us to stay for a week but we could only stay a few hours.
