I can remember being a part of a undefeated Viking team back in 1973 (or was it 74') that was coached by Gus DeFelicious. That was a Great experience! Thanks, Vikings for all of the terrific times as a Player and as a Coach (79')!! "Go Vikings" ~Steve Alamillo

Steve, I Started as at the gremlin level in 1971 and that year we had an undefeated season too. I played from 1971-1976 and the best coach's I ever had was Chuck Laughlin and his assistant Steve Novac, For me those two years were the best of times and I will never forget them and how much I looked up to these coach�s. Today I�m the President of the Vikings and I�m coaching my 15th season and I try to coach the same way they did and give back where I recieved. The Viking program has had a great impact on both my self and family, I even married my favorite cheerleader. At the banquets I always look around and wonder which kids will be running the program 25yrs from now.

After that massive sign-up day, I went home and looked at my old Viking year books and I counted how many teams the Burbank Vikings have ever fielded, totaling 9. During the mid 70'S we had 1 Gremlin, 3 Mity Mites, 2 Peewee, 2 Midget and 1 Bantam teams. Because of the large turn out this year we are planning to field 10 teams and if we had more coach�s we could have had 11 teams. One other neat thing is, out of the 10 teams, eight of the head coach�s are ex-Vikings!!!!! The Burbank Viking program is stronger then ever. All of this is great news for our local high schools football and cheer programs. GO VIKINGS!

Do to the large sign up, we had told some kids they were on a waiting list because we needed to find more coach's and buy more equipment. I am happy to inform you that everyone who signed up on April 29th (sign up day) will be placed on a team and we are still taking a waiting list in case we have some drop, which we have already had a few. You can expect an info packet in the mail to you by early July. We still need a lot of cheerleaders and the uniform fitting is on June 4th. Please check the cheer section on the web site for more info

Coach Alamillo! Great e-mail. Before you coached us back in 1979 at BHS we had back to back Conference championships. In 1976 under Tom Peterson our midget team went 10-1 and posted 8 shut-outs adn beat the Valley Dolphins 49-0. Then under Ed Lowman we were undefeated beating the Valley Chargers for the Championship. Guys like Dyson Hamner, Steve Rogers and myself that you coached were on that team. 25 years lated I got to coach my son in a PYFL superbowl with the Burbank Vikings. Any other Viking stories out there??????

It is with deep sorrow to inform you that Rick Young passed away last Friday night. Rick was the father of two Vikings: Dustin & Samantha. Ricks son �Dusty� played with my team last year and is back with us again this year and is daughter Samantha is with our cheer team. Rick loved to watch his kids play, he was always at every practice and game. Rick was a nice guy to be around and I enjoyed his good company. My heart & prayers go out to the Young family. God speed!

Junior white, I'm extremely proud of you boy's!!!! We were down at half and you rallied back the 2nd half and went point for point with that team. We were out sized and matched and that team left Burbank with their first black eye of the season. The only thing that matters is that we played ball with everything we had and we left a little piece of our selves on the field. (HEART & SOUL) Way to go!!!!!
