My son Jack and I received tickets for the last game of the Cactus league on March 29th. At first we didn't know what to think but something told us that this was OK. After listening, we felt touched and humbled by what just happened. We had great seats and saw many people we knew from Chicago! The Cubs won 7-4 on a sunny day in Mesa. I'm sure neither of us will forget the generosity on this day. I'm a season ticket holder and plan to make sure that a Father and son go to Wrigley field for the first time every year in Steve's memory. Thank you for touching on souls at Ho Ho Kam!

My son & I received tickets to the March 28th Cubs v. Rockies game. It was a beautiful day. Had some peanuts, a cold brew and watched my son TOTALLY enjoy his 10th b'day. To top it all off, Lovie Smith (the Bear's Coach) was right in front of us!! What a day and all because of your beautiful tribute to your son. I have to tell you the rest of my story...On New Year's Eve this year, we had just arrived in Florida for a family trip (after a 20 hr. car ride!). While unpacking, I began having pain in my chest area. Long story short is, I went to the E.R. where I was diagnosed w/ blood clots in both my lungs (the result of some long business flights & the long drive). The nurse told me I had an angel on my shoulder...the clots could've landed in my heart or brain. Our "vacation" was spent at Lee Memorial Hospital in Ft. Myers, Fla. We had to fly our kids home. It was awful, but could have been so much worse. I am recovering (and on medicine the rest of my life) and decided for our son's b'day, to try another vacation to

Thank you for the tickets to the Cubs spring training game. My dad and I love to watch sports, but rarely get the chance to see pro teams play. We were visiting my sister's fiance in Arizona and decided to see a game, but had no idea that someone else had already paid! The day was that much more special when my dad and I received your tickets and realized that the tickets weren't a scam, but an act of true generosity. Being in college, I don't see my dad as often as I'd like, so getting to spend a day with him was awesome. We thoroughly enjoyed the game (Cubs win! Cubs win!), each other's company, pranking each other, and even some good ol' dad advice on life after the game. Thanks for creating a lasting memory of time with my dad in memory of Steve.

My daughter Alyson is a huge baseball fan. She has been planning on trying out for her high school JV team since September, 2007. During try-outs, she was admitted into the Phoenix Children's hospital. She has Cystic Fibrosis. She has been in the hospital for approx. 3weeks now and missed her opportunity to try-out for the team. She became extremely depressed. Lisa, a Child Life Specialist, came in and gave Alyson 4 tickets to the Cubs-A's game on March 11. The sparkle that she has always has, returned, and she smiled from ear to ear. Thank you so very much for putting a smile on my daughter's face. Your son would be so very proud of you for sharing his love of baseball. Alyson can't wait to go to the game!

My dad and have wanted to come see spring training games for years but I've always been busy playing baseball. This being my first year of college, I stopped playing ball after playing for 12 years. My dad taught me how to love and appreciate the game so it was tough telling him I was going to stop playing. This road trip to arizona from california was the first time we have been able to spend time together in a months and I cannot thank you enough for giving us not only the gift of two free tickets but the ability to strengthen a relationship that was in need of repair. Over the years, I've learned that baseball isn't just a game but a unique way to bring people together of every age. It is so refreshing to see how you have used your son's life as a symbol to rejoice in a way that sees the blessings. Thank you for inspiring my dad and I not only to continue doing life together, along side a beautiful game, but to appreciate what we have and strive to seek the positives in the struggles of life. It was truly an honor to meet you last weekend and learn about Steve's Dream. As I listened to your story, I was really touched. First, as a mom, I couldn't imagine losing a child and I was truly inspired by your positive attitude and "Always Blessings, Never Losses" mentality! Then, I thought of my own relationship with my brother, who I was at the game with, and I couldn't imagine the loss felt by Sara, too. Mike, I just wanted to let you know what a pleasure and inspiration in was for my son Nicholas and me to meet you. We are at a good deal of games that he is either playing in or we are watching and I feel it is a bond that keeps us tighter as father and son. I can not even fathom what the loss of a son is like, but your efforts to keep Steve's memory alive and to create an atmosphere of giving and togetherness between family members is to be applauded. We would like to thank you for the fabulous tickets on 3/22, and we kept our promise of no talk of work or school. This day seemed to have a bit of magic in the air, first to meet you and have you give us these seats to a sold out Cubs/Sox game, and then no more the 10 minutes later to meet Ron Santo entering the park, to the end of the day when my son got Zambrano's autograph (his favorite MLB pitcher). Via Phoenix Children's Hospital, Steve's Dream, has made it possible for me to take my grandsons to see the Cubs. I admire the manner in which you have taken a tragedy and turned into such fulfilling venue. As I will someday have to face the realities of what life has in store for a family member of my own, I pray that I too can find a way to honor my angel on earth. Baseball is providing a strong and lasting bond between myself and the grandsons. With the awesome seats you provide the kids are able to yell out to the player and have them acknowledge back. The joy they receive and the impression that it makes will certainly last them a lifetime. I and the kids thank you for the opportunity you, your wife, and your son are providing for others.
