Comments As a child my dad told me his ancestors came from the Catskills. The farthest I can trace back is a John T. Haynes/Hayns b. in NY in Sept of 1824, married to Marietta Campbell in 1846 and Susan Waldren in 1864. Relatives say John was born in "Monark", but I can find no such place in NY. Comments My mother was a Haines. Her father was John Edward Haines, his father was Joseph E Haines, his father was Job Haines, I have more info. I have even traced back to England into the 1580's in Aynhoe the town where Richard Haines the progenitor of our line here in NJ where they landed at Burlington, NJ in the fall of 1682. I've been hooked on this genealogy since March of this year after finding old photos dating back into the 1800's of my Haines ancestor. This summer I'm traveling to N.J. to find and photograph as many Haines headstones as I can to add to my findings. I am according to records the 10th generation since Richard's wife Margret landed here with her sons. Richard died onboard the Amity mid way from England to the new land. Glad I found t his website.

Comments I just recently found that my Birth Father was born a Haines. He took his step fathers name in 1953 at the age of 21. I have just recently gotten into contact with a cousin, who is the son of my Grand Uncle. (Brother to my new found Grandfather) I never got to meet my Grandfather. I am hoping to find out more information about this part of my family that I never knew about. I've learned so much about my family. They came from England. Richard Haine's came over on the Amity with his wife and children, but did not make it here. He died on the way to America. His wife gave birth to their youngest son Joseph. I'm excited to be searching for information about this part of my family tree. I hope to connect with more of this side of my family to get more information. Now that I am on the East Coast, I can go to different places that the original Haines lived.

I never seem to be able to get there any more and would love to see the mountains and the town, the park and north and south lake. I used to climb north mountain with my aunt Marjorie Dunn. Comments Searching for info on my great grandmother ____? Haines, married Rev. "Little" James Wielhouwer in ____? She passed away in 1914? He moved to GR, married second wife in 1928, and then moved to Passaic, NJ in 1946. Died in 1957.
