I am so sorry to hear of Jeri's passing. My memories of Jeri began in 1982 at Tandem Computers, when she, John Friedenbach and I shared an office. She was full of boundless energy, eager to absorb new technologies, and fun to be around.

I am so sad to learn of Jeri's death. I last surfed with Jeri in early May this year. The last time I saw her she was at the Rack getting her board where we talked about cancer and the ding repairs on our new beloved boards. I passed on that afternoon because there wasn't much surf, but Jeri told me she was going out as she was sure the surf would "pick up" and sure enough it did! That was Jeri...getting the most out the surf and life as she could. I met Jeri in 2002 when I too was dealing with cancer, which gave us a special bond. I remember a few years ago when she mastered drop-knee turns and she tried to teach me how. It was clear that Waikiki and surfing gave us our strength. I am so glad I knew her, she was so beautiful, so friendly, so strong, so downhome and she always inspired me. I am missing her already. -GDoggy

Dan Harkey was kind enough to send me a link to your site. I'm sad that Jeri is no longer with us - she was a beautiful, smart, funny woman, and we really don't have enough of these on this Earth. Robert, I just heard of Jeri's passing from Dan Harkey. So sorry to hear the news. I enjoyed working with her at Tandem, and again on launching J2EE when she was at BEA. You and I met when Jeri presented your CORBA books to me. Such happy memories, I cherish them, I feel priveleged and happy to have known her. Please accept my sincere condolences.
