Comments It was not only a pleasure to meet you, find that we are both from Indianapois, and experience your performance and tribute to the Gershwins. They must be smiling down on you from Heaven, knowing that you are sharing the gift of expressing their music with such feeling and gratitude. It was incredibly joyful and an inspiration. Comments Thank you for all the pleasureable hours we have spent with you and Jan. Last night I brought to the attention of the Carlsbad Library & Arts Board the fact we had not contracted with you for another performance. The response is, we will engage you during one of our fund raising functions later this year or at worst the beginning of 07. Please bear with us and me. Have a great time at the Bohemian Club. Comments Thanks for a memory. When I sang 'My Sweet Embraceable You" with the audience during your performance at Guilderland library on 1/6/08, at your invitation, I felt an irresistable need to hug my 80 year old mother who I had brought along. She was sitting next to me and I literally wrapped my arms around her. Something magical happened to me when I heard you play that song. I was familiar with it. I have heard it and sung it many times growing up. In that one embrace I forgave my mother for the not so great Mom she's been to me all these years. She grew up in NYC during some very hard times and it left her bitter. But I loved her completely at that moment in the library and in Gershwin's words, with the ideas he and Ira put into the lyrics. They were perfect. It absolutely lifted me off the chair and my heart was full to bursting with love. I was exhausted the entire next day. I will never forget that hug. It was like it was the first time I ever held the person who is my mother. Thanks.-Alice Tunison

Comments I wonder how much of a miracle that was that occurred just now - I clicked on the computer speaker which was off while I typed my comments a few minutes ago in your guest book. I don't know how it happened but "My Sweet Embraceable You" was playing. That is the very song I had just written in your guest book about. Was that a co-incidence to have heard that particular song? Does that song play all the time on your web site? I am feeling pretty wonderful right now. Twice blessed by Richard Glazier - once at the library with Mom and our fabulous moment singing 'My Sweet Embraceable You' together and now this second time to have those few bars of music from that very song play for me. Wow. By the way... You may remember me as the last one on the autograph line at Guilderland library. The redhead. You asked me if I was a dancer or a singer or in entertainment somehow. Only community theatre and every minute of my life I've been a star in my head.I thanked you for all the time you spend practicing to bring pleasure to so many

Comments I really enjoyed your piano concert last night at the Children's Discovery Museum on 8/6/06! I thought it was great!I'm 8 years old and I am into piano playing, too. My most favorite song you played was Rhapsody in Blue. Oh! I thought that you put lots of feeling and expression into each song you played...and I thought that made your songs even more fun to hear and more fun to see you play!I hope that some day soon I will once again hear some wonderful songs with great expression just like last night. From a piano lover, Mary Amanda Breeden

Comments Thank you for your excellent perfromance at the Oakland East Bay Symphony on August 26, 2006. Prior to that performance, I knew your name, but I really didn't know all that much about you. I really enjoyed your excellent piano playing accompanied by the great history behind it all. Who would have known that one of the best piano performances of all time would have been free! When I purchased one of your CDs, I told your wife that you needed to write a book. I was taking notes on all your stories so I wouldn't forget them; now I see that most of them are here on your website. Now, I will remember August 26, 2006 like you remember April 2, 1975 meeting Ira Gershwin!!

Comments Dear Dr. Glazier, although I did thank you in person last night, I am writing to thank you again for creating such a memorable evening. Your love of the music, your fondness of the Gershwins, your warmth and your sensitivity to the music shone through. Hearing you play Rapsody in Blue on that magnificent Steinway changed forever how I will hear that superb music. Not sure how many more superlatives I can fit in one email but all are fully deserved! Thank you again for sharing your gifts with us.

Comments Yes, I was moved to tears today at your concert at Greene Music's Music Hall. So beautiful was your rendition of Gershwin and also Jerome Kern, my heart just filled up. You magically transported me back to the 30's and the richness of music of the time. Your weaving of story with the music made the magic. Thank you for an exquisite experience.

Comments I stopped last night to tell you that my Mother, age 100, considered the biggest thrill of her life, seeing George Gershwin play his Rhapsody in Blue with Paul Whiteman's Orchestra. You asked where it was and I believe she told me it was in Forest Park, IL. (This may be wrong.) My aunt was a concert pianist. Unfortunately she died at 34. One of my fondest memories is the beautiful big Steinway Parlor Grand in my Grandmother's living room. Now .. another favorite memory is that of seeing and hearing you play last night at the magnificent Sanfilippo home. Thanks so much for such a spcial evening.

Comments It was a pleasure to meet you today at Dana's house. I really enjoyed the concert! My grandmother grew up in the era of the Gershwin's and Irving Berlin - she used to sing us their songs all the time. Thank you for evoking her memory while I was enjoying the music! Hope to see you again when you return to Indy!

Comments I enjoyed the concert I and my wife watched on PBS Sunday afternoon about the Gershwin program. My question as I'm a new to the piano and learning from books at the moment; Do you offer piano lessons for beginners to intermediate online, or do you recommend any great teachers in your kind of skill? Thank you Anthony Hatt

Comments Richard: Thank you, again, for the Glens Falls concert @ the Charles R. Wood Thtr. last night. The history & connections to Glens Falls were fascinating. The after-show talk & additional music was just as interesting & didactic. I left my contact info w/ Mr. Loughrey (?) in hopes of obtaining some of Maurice Whitney's transcriptions for my own piano. In the event he does not return the hoped for response, might I turn to you? Travel well! Thank you again! Sincerely, Tony Krivitski.

Comments Mr. Glazier, timing is everything. Monday evening as I casually tuned into WMFT in Chicago while driving home from a family member's concert, I had never heard of you; now almost 48 hours later you have another adoring fan! Gershwin has been a love of mine ever since I first heard those incredible intricate notes of Rhapsody In Blue, so I truly THANK YOU for your brilliant performance at end of that program. Last night I took advantage of your advertised guest appearance at the Chicago Piano Superstore in Downer's Grove to hear you in person and see if my "ears" could be graced with more of that exquisite "tickling of the ivories" that I heard on Monday night via the radio. I was not disappointed; your talent and narrative exceeded my expectations. You took us back to a grand and fascinating era with the visuals of Hollywood's musicals and back again to the present by keeping this important and glorious music alive with your enormous talent! Bravo!

Comments Dear Mr. Glazier: I attended your recent Elko, NV concert with my husband. I had to leave another meeting in order to attend the concert....and I am so glad I did. I knew almost every selection in the progam that night by heart. When I was 13 years old my wonderful Grandmother bought box seat tickets to the Hollywood Bowl for the two of us. From Whittier we went by city bus, streetcar, more bus and some walking to arrive and return home. Little did I know that the program would be all Gershwin with soloist Oscar Levant. I have never forgotten that night!! Since then I have attended perfomances of Rhapsody in Blue in many nations, but none can compare with Oscar and the Bowl. I am now 68 years old and Gershwin still makes my heart race. Thank you for your wonderful narrative and talent that you shared with us. I was 13 years old again.
