Comments Nice site, I love the photography. I'm a descendant of William le Hardi Douglas through his descendant John Douglas, who emigrated to Maryland in the 17th century. Your site gives me a great visual reference for the family history.

Comments I have bought copies of the first 2 books - and have enjoyed so much - been waiting for the third - I want to buy it also in hardback as I have the other 2 - just finished reading the exerp from ...a Mist in Time. You write so well - my husband is in the Douglas clan - Sharon Bryant, you and I some discussion of Adam Glendenning in your book. Keep it up! We hope to to Scotland but our health may not let us - the last year has been unreal and we are still recovering. I am getting ready to write about Cavers. How can anyone desicrate families resting places and homes. I wrote ean Muir back in 2002 I guess it was and the committee.

Comments Although not a Douglas by name or heritage,I have the great honour and privilege to be a born and bred Douglasian. The history of the village and the Douglas clan has always beeen a source of great pride and inspiration to me and my fellow villagers. The Douglases were a very important and courgeous part of the history of this great country and I commend you on your efforts to perpetuate the name.We gave our son the middle name of Douglas and we wear the tartan with the greatest of pride. We regard ouselves as British by birth,Douglas Scots by the Grace of God.Keep up the good work.

Comments I have read "My Truth Lies in the Ruins" and "In the Shadow of my Truth." It is not often that a person gets to read history written from an eye witness point of view. I enjoyed both the books and am waiting for the release of "My Truth a Mist in Time." And, my great grandmother was a Douglas.

Comments Dear Deb and Douglases, I've just read about the existence of your trilogy on the Douglases and am looking forward to purchasing and reading them. I've just barely scratched the surface in my own research on our grand clan and would love to receive any advice and guidance that anyone would care to share with me. My maternal great grandmother was a Douglas. She was born on a ship coming from Scotland to Canada in the 1800's. I would love to find out how to learn if she was of the Black or Red Douglases. At 65 years of age myself, I would love to get as much information as possible together so that I can share it with my family. We are proud to be Douglas and "A Douglas, A Douglas" is the battle cry my daughter and I share when we are being challenged by life. It bolsters us and we charge forth. Bless you all. Janet

Comments My wife, Kate, and I have friends that live in Douglas. Jim and Lily McKnight live in Ferriers Cottage. We recently attended Jim's daughter Paula's wedding, and for the second time stayed with Jim and Lily. Jim is quite the historian on the history of the area and the highlands and is always pointing out spots of interest. I've had great times walking Jim's dogs through Douglas Park Up to the Larder Tower, past the Douglas Waters and back to town. So when I purchased your book, "My Troth Lies In The Ruins", The pleasure of the read was compounded by the knowing by sight of most all the places of historical note. I enjoyed the book immencely, and am looking forward to the next two. I have a number of pictures from the town, St Bride's, Douglas Park, and the site of Douglas Castle taken this past September. I'll send them if you would like. Thank you for the good read, Sincerely Yours John Walters

Comments Deborah, It's great to see your work, research and web-site. I'll look forward to reading your books - and doing more research of my own to find out how our heritage (MTDNA) is related. Exciting.
