Complimenti for the great site. My grandfather, Antonio Massimiano, was born in Paduli and came to the States in 1911 with his father Saverio Massimiano and mother Maria Grazia Alfieri Tursi Massimiano. So these Padulesi settled in Pittsfield in western Massachusetts. I know they had cousins who settled in Oyster Bay, NY. My family and I visited Paduli a few years ago with our cousins who moved from Paduli up to Rome. I plan on going again soon, as I'm a studying in Rome right now for the spring, and my cousins go for special occasions such as Pasqua, la Festa di S. Rocco, etc.

Entrambi genitori di mio padre erano nati a Paduli. � arrivato qui in America Nonno Antonio nel 1904 e poi nel 1910 Nonna Frasina. Fino ad un certo punto, c'erano communicazioni postali con i parenti che sono rimasti in Italia . Per qualsiasi motivo, noi (la famiglia Bozzello in America e la famiglia Bozzella in Italia) abbiamo perso proprio il contatto. Da piccola l'anima mia si sentiva molto legato ai miei origini padulesi (anche se non ci sono mai stata). Dieci anni fa, coll'aiuto delle zie pi� anziane ho riuscito di rifare il contatto, prima per telefono, poi di persona. Da quel punto, ci sono tornata due o tre volta all'anno. Fino ad ora rimane una delle cose pi� importante che ho mai fatto nella vita. Mi sento di aver tornato a casa.

The site is very informative. I have been looking for information on my ancestry for years. My fiancee and i are planning a trip to Italy and hopefully, will be making a stop in my ancestral town of Paduli. I have been very happy to visit your web site and to find out all the infos about you. I also have my roots in Paduli. My father was born there and I was spending my summer holydays as a child there, before the earthquake my family had two houses. Now when I go back because I inherited a beautiful land with olives trees I feel very lonely beacause all my relatives are gone away or they are dead. Alex; I am so happy to find something on Paduli. My Great grandfather, James Vincenzo Minicozzi who was sometimes refered to as Vincent, was born in Paduli December 15, 1887 and he came over on the S.S. Calabria. In 1930 he was living at 16 Irving Place in Oyster Bay, then moved to Locust St.or Ave. His parents were Frank Minicozzi and Filomena Ranaldo. I don't know anything about his parents. He was married to a woman by the last name of Micco, they had a son, Frank. She past away and later married my Great grandmother Rose Yannotti/Iannotti. She was born in East New York, Brooklyn. Her father, who I beleive is one of the donors of the Bell, Is Luigi Iannotti born about 1875. Her mother was Filomena Checola born about 1879 in Paduli as well. They all went St. Dominics Church in Oyster Bay and the Italian-American Club as well. I still have yet to find birth records in Paduli. please note you have my great grandmother's name listed incorrectly on your list of immigrants. Her name appears as Vittoria but it is really Villermina Massimiano who arrived in April 1911 on the ship Duca D'Aosta. Her name appears correctly on the bronze plaque, Villermina Martini. (Martini being her married name.) Thanks so much for the correction.

I am looking for my great grandmother, Concetta Pontillo, and I think I have found her! The family always said she was from Napoli, but apparently she was from Paduli. My grandfather was Antonio Bozzello(a) from Paduli. My mother is the former Mariana Bozzello of Locust Valley, daughter of Antonio. She was one of eleven Bozzello children raised on Oyster Bay Road in Locust Valley. Marianna (Marion) lives with my father at 128 Pershing Avenue, Locust Valley, New York (516) 671-6926. Her remaining brothers and sisters are Philomena Cekala (Locust Valley), Charles Bozzello (Glen Cove), Joseph Bozzello (Oyster Bay), Angelina Lombardi (Locust Valley and Agnes Viteritti (Bayville). My cellular number is 305-972-6457. I am an attorney admitted to practice law in the states of Florida and Connecticut. My children are Zachary, Edmund, Jennifer and James Baker. I remember my grandfather Antonio Bozzello quite well as a young boy, even though he only spoke broken English. My mother and her family have visited Paduli.
