Thanks for the funny cartoon in the Sun News this week of the cow's leg being sawed off. I think reasoning with the powers-that-be regarding paving over precious irrigated land on campus is like reasoning with a cow whose leg is sawed off.

Bob, I was watching the DVD of "Mary Poppins" the other day and the character, Bert, reminded me of you. In the movie he is a man of many talents and he's willing to do whatever jobs he can do to earn the odd taupin. As Bert says, "I do what I like and I like what I do!" Congratulations on creating an interesting lifestyle and apparently making the best out of life. Thank you for working with me to create a portrait of my mother. It is wonderful and I'm sure she'll be very pleased.

I doubt very seriously that you have ever been to Elephant Butte. Your "funny" art in the paper today will hurt many business in Elephant Butte including my parents. They have had a business there for 50 years. Now you slam the lake publically. Have you been there? Have you boated on it lately? Do you know the natural cycle of life and the lake? The lake has plenty of water and folks that live there and love it. Please look before you leap and consider who you are hurting. Use your head not just your pen! I hope you will publically apologize in the same grandness you have hurt them!!!! Too Bad You could have used your talent for good.
