I started searching the web and found this website and was so excited to see the same picture of mother Rhina that was in the 1989 flyer. In my mind that confirmed my relation to her. Comments My research for information about my 5th great grandmother Rhinia (Rina) have brought me to the Barnwell platation. She was a runaway slave and caught both times. I believe she was running to another plantation where her children was sold. Do you know of any stories past down of female slave rhinia running away, being but in the hole and praying so loud and long that the slave master couldnt sleep, so he let her out the hole and didn't punished her. I'm apart of the Whitlock-Ginn reunion from Hampton SC. Thank you for all your research.
