Comments I love coming to Sheena's web site when I miss her. Everyone's comments on what an amazing person she was and how wonderful it was to have her as a friend are very uplifting. I talk to her when I walk my dog, hoping she will encourage me to develop an ounce of her zest for life I so admired. Thanks Sheena for listening.

Comments Hi Sheena, I knew I should have bagged the romatic weekend with my husband that he got me as a present and gone to your birthday party instead! Anything with you is going to be fun and eventful. I also now wish I had met you in my twenties and had started traveling with you and your friends on those great trips! Hey, you look great in Red and showing the cleavage! Your friend in Colorado, Anne

Comments It is almost your birthday again, so I have been thinking of you. It is nice to visit to your website and read what your family and friends say. I watched our show "Lost" that I taped and wanted to call you like I used to. It was titled the "Little Prince" and the hint of the theme from the book with the same title ran through the story line. We could have discussed that for a while. I'll have to re-read that book now. I'll let you know when I talk you since I know you hear me. I miss you.

Comments Sheen, I was driving around Denver and going past where you used to live. I always think of you when I'm in that neighborhood near your old house. I was watched "Lost" last night and when I watch that show I think of you too. I miss how we used to discuss it afterwards. It isn't the same without your interesting thoughts and comments about it. It's been two years since you left this world for another, and I still thank you Sheena for your strength and inspiration to be someone like you. Anne

Comments Our loss is heaven's gain. Sheena, you are loved and missed. What a wonderful life you lived and how I will miss living vicariously through you. I hope there is a kickin' stereo system where you are...and if not, I have no doubt you'll build one for them! Love you! God speed, Sheena!

Comments Sheena I just found out about losing you. I remember all the fun at the U of S, classes and studying, the parties, and living next door to you and the gang in that old crappy house. You were also a shining light to me. Always with a smile, always so fun to be with. I am sorry you had to leave the party early, but your smile will always be with me. xx Bill

Comments I don't check Sheena's site as often as I used to, but enjoy Nuala's, Katie's, and everyone's notes when I do. Nicole and I still think of Sheena often, and I wanted to share two small ways we've tried to honor her memory. Nicole has been training for a 100-mile bike ride in October on Sheena's hand-me-down bike. Although Nicole recently bought a new bike that might actually be able to make the full journey, Nicole ordered a jersey stitched with Sheena's initials so Sheena would still be with her during the race. My remembrance isn't quite as dashing but it's topical...I just turned 40 and I just scheduled my first colonoscopy. Naturally I'm not looking forward to it but have a renewed understanding of how important these are (even if Sheena was unlucky in her test not catching the cancer).

Comments Im saddend and shocked to learn of Sheena's passing. I knew Sheena about 20-25 years ago, back when she was attending Scranton, we hung around back in NA and Kearny, had some real great times! It is so great to see her web page and all of her close friends and family showing just how much they loved her. Its also so great to see that Sheena accomplished so much and had such a "fun" life, after all, she was always about having fun. I often think of her and will certainly continue to. My deepest thoughts go out to her family and friends.

Comments What I'll always love about Sheena was her determination and will to try anything. Once, when she came to visit me in Lake Tahoe we went skiing at Homewood Mountain Resort. It was time to head down the mountain for our much deserved end of the day beer! We got to the last steep face of the slope overlooking the lodge and the beautiful lake. It was a very difficult end to the run, so I showed her the easier trail down to the lodge and took off to meet her below. When I stopped at the intersection of the easy trail I looked around for her. Sure enough, she decided "to hell with the easy way" and followed me down the steep run on her snowboard! She made it down in one piece, slightly bruised and we sat in the lodge enjoying our beers while looking out at that steep hard slope that she conquered. The grin on our faces said it all...and the beers never tasted better! Love you and miss you, Dave

Comments I love you Sheena. You lived a fuller life than most people twice your age. You are on my top ten most admired people. Sheena exemplifies how we all should live our lives in good times and difficult times. Even during cancer treatment she went to Vietnam and Space Camp. She told me she had to go Vietnam to see the "last of the pickled Communist Leader" I said what the heck are you talking about. It was just another Sheena-ism. She had me laughing so hard lifting my spirits instead of me trying to lift hers. We should all live our lives like Sheena with high energy, enthusiam, "NO" was not in her vocabulary, a sense of humor and a zest for fun. She cared for her family and friends. If anyone is feeling down not just today but as we go about our lives they should think how would Sheena deal with this and we will have a good answer. With Love, Eva

Comments Hello all - haven't been on the site much, mainly as it was too hard to log on to, but tonight had a few glasses of wine and so here I am. . . . and a great site it is I will add. . .Was really nice to run into Nuala and Clancey twice recently - lots of laughs and talk about life, just like those times with Sheena. Good luck with Millionare Nuala - I'm sure Sheena will be there with you for that life-line. Nice time with Mary, Karen, and Nuala *(Maged in sprirt)for Indian food. Let's do it again soon. Miss you something terrible Sheena (I need advice on all those household projects you were so good at with the new apt), but happy that you are always around in all of your friends. . . and when when I have one of those pathetic days at the office that we would always commiserate about (similar to those rediculous scenes in the show The Office, but all too real) - I can always hear your down to Earth, say it like it is responses to my complaining. Hope to see you all soon. Love, Greg

Comments Whoops, too verbose--hey, we attorneys are paid by the word! So anyway, the rest of the story is: The Off-Key singing brings back another story of Sheena's 6 word solo. Surely others have heard that one where she got the lead part in a musical and they kept cutting back the singing parts and finally sent her to a voice coach and she had to fight to keep her 6 word solo, which I think was "What will become of me now?", that Sheena could only say while slapping the back of one hand into the palm of the other. Lucky St. Peter! I just picture Sheena hanging out with him, thanking him for all the good material that she used here on earth and then saying "Did you hear the one about the..." Sheena, you are missed!

Comments I recently ran across some photos of the last official Girls Trip in February 2007 in Florida that are kind of fun and Brad was kind enough to post them. I thought they might be more fun with narration of the context. Of course, I'm taking the photos so Lisa, Lindy and the Bronzed Sun Goddess are my subjects, the latter of which is wrapped in a towel in these under the shade as usual. Next, you need to be playing or, preferably, singing off key real loudly, "If it Makes you Happyyy, it can't be all baaa--aaaa--aaad; if it Makes you Happyyyyy, then why the He** are you so sad!" while you enjoy the pictures of the chair dancing at the condo as that is the song that prompted the elevated gyrations. Another of our favorite memories from that particular trip was cruising down the main strip in our real cool (NOT) rented ford fairlane or whatever, and Sheena rolls down the window and shouts out to 4 young hotties on the corner "YOOO HOOOO". OK, so now they are certain there are real grama's in that so uncool car! The Off-Key s

Comments Lisa, Lindy & I are pleased to report that we all survived our recent girls trip that we took in Sheena's honor. We started off rafting in the Grand Canyon, then hiked out 9 1/2 miles covering 1 vertical mile and ended at a Cher concert in Vegas. All the other rafters now know of Sheena. Lisa commented that we really cheated since we didn't paddle; Sheena never would have gone for that. But we did hike out in what our young 30-ish guide described as a "brutal" hike. That was an understatement! Lindy's quote was "That was the hardest thing I've ever done. I will never recommend it to anyone unless I don't like them at all". Lisa's description was to get on a stair stepper for 9 hours, put it on a 10% grade, blast a heat lamp on your head and sand blowing in your face. Then jump out of the way for the mules that leave huge piles and puddles that you have to slog around that attract big flies, and drink hot icky water. Since I was told you had to reserve the donkey rentals a year in advance, I started trying to buy a d

Comments OK, so I ran out of room AGAIN. Anyway, I tried to buy a donkey string on the way up to no avail. I did call on Sheena to push me up the hill. We enjoyed sharing Sheena stories the whole time and entertaining others with them, just as she would have...ok, not just as--we don't have her delivery--but we tried, and kept her with us throughout the trip.

Comments Man, I wish I would've checked back in prior to the Millionaire showing....I knew about Nicole's amazing bike ride from emails. Congrats to both of you gals! I just wanted to share that Lindy, Lisa & I got together in Padre again at Thanksgiving, which is the last place & time I had a chance to see Sheena the prior year. It was really weird, but neat, because as I was laying on the beach, I could hear Sheena's voice and laugh--I couldn't make out the words, but it was just as if the wind were carrying them away from her shady spot like always. It was pretty cool actually. We each took our turns tearing up but were able to share many great memories of Sheena...and we did NOT cook a turkey meal (like we did in '07) at her insistence; instead we went out for a fabulous meal overlooking the sunset on the bay which provided a great backdrop to our toasts to our missing friend.

Comments As a Physics major at the University of Scrantion I knew Sheena a little back in college. I never kept in touch with her afterwards, though I did try to look her up once or twice - not very hard, I guess. The notice in yesterday's Scranton Journal was the first I knew of what had happened to her. I remember at graduation, Sheena absolutely waylaid Father Panuska as she received her diploma. Instead of simply shaking his hand, she swept him into a huge, Rhett-and-Scarlet dip-and-kiss. At least, that's how I remember it, more than twenty years later. I have written a post about her passing. http://anothermonkey.blogspot.com/2008/12/goodbye-sheena.html Thank you for having this site to let us know what happened. Did Sheena keep a blog or any other sort of site where she left her own record of her life?
