I served in the 13th FIS June 1967 to June 1968 and was assisant NCOIC of the weapons section. It was a proud moment for me when an ORI inspector told us we had the best F-101 weapons load crews in the 10th Air Force.

I guess I should have read a little further before signing in the first time. I was in MG13 from Jan 1961 to June 1964. I remember when we went to the first solid state circuits in the radar system and then the IR radar setup. I loved the Montana speed limits. (none). Spent many hours driving to and from Wolf Point where the bands I played in would play. One was the Rhythm Knights. Some of the people were Joe Diaz, Joe Killgallon, Tex Johnston, Don Abrahamson, Denny, and Steve, I am sorry to have forgotten the last names. I played trombone in that group. We did a lot at the O Club and NCO Club. Also went to play a lot to the radar station at Opheim, Montana. Boy that was isolated duty for those guys. In 1963 I think it was Don Abrahamson and I started a band with a local high school band director and local guitar player. Kip McFaul and Paul Anderson. We played as Kip and the Casuals at Brad's club on the highway to Glasgow and the Skylark nite club in Glasgow. Also Butsy's Lounge in WP. I have been in contact with a few of th

Just found this site. Very happy to see a lot of my old friends have visited.I was at GAFB from may of 1962 until march of 1966. I was in MG-13 shop and worked flightline and mockup. You might also remember I was the reluctant barracks chief, assigned by the worlds worst firsst sergeant, and i couldn't get out of it.so dont blame me for all those GI parties and inspections.Would be happy to hear from any and all Black Bulls even though I amy not remenber you right away.

Glad to see so many on the guest book. I'm stil trying to find old pics of Glasgow and Lowery days. I really enjoyed the work times at Glasgow even though I hated the area and the cold and mosquitos. I was stationed there from 2/27/62 and left there 3/13/64. I was sent TDY to Tyndall 2 times and to Tinker in '64 for the FAA supersonic testing "Sooner Boomers" for 5 weeks.Hopefully see you all at RU-5.

Hello. My name is Chris. I was born in Glasgow MT and my parents grew up there. I now work for the Boeing Company as a fire fighter and we now use the old AFB in Glasgow for flight test of our aircraft. We are trying to gather information about the history of the AFB and we have a question regarding the 13th FIS. We have the patch but we are having difficulty finding any information on what the nickname for the group was. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I was at Glasgow from spring of '65 to fall of '67, mostly in the Command Post. In '91 I landed my Bonanza A-36 on the runway and taxied to the squadron area. Looked like a ghost town. I flew to the Glasgow Airport and rented a car so I could go out and look around. Total access to every place on the base, took a ton of pictures. The only person I saw was a guy sanding the lanes in the Bowling Alley.
