Comments The last few years I have struggled with the loss of my friends; cried, but knowing such a group of men, men that Woods served with, the kind of man that Woods was, just knowing them rather briefly was better than not knowing them at all. Woods died in war, not trying to defend himself, not trying to take another man’s life, but in trying to save a man’s life. There is no greater honor in death than to die in sacrifice to another. We all wish it wasn't so, we cry, we ask why and in moments of weakness we curse this place, but this is the world we have been given, the life we must live. Eric will live on in the hearts of his family and the in the hearts of the men he served with. There isn't a statue or a place in the world that could live up to the man and the standard he has set upon our generation. My life is testament to your friendship. In brothers arms.
