My Memories Although I only knew Mindis for a few short years, and I could probably count on one hand my experiences with her, she will always hold a special place in my heart. It is not very often that you meet someone who shines as bright as Mindis. I cherish every memory I have of her.

My Memories I wanted so much to celebrate your life with your family and friends. I think a piece of me already knew, but didn't want to face the music. You brought so much sunshine into our lives and our salon. I can't thank you enough for what you gave when it was your time to need. You are a gift, Mindi. I will dearly miss you and you will always have a special place in my heart and in my memories. To Mindi's family and friends, my thought and prayers are with you. My Memories I had the pleasure of doing Mindi's hair. From the very moment I met her I knew she was special. Besides being one of the funniest, bubbliest, good natured people, she also was smart, caring and extremely patient. In fact, I turned her hair purple the last time I had seen her! All she did was laugh, hug me and she was off. In the face of death she put others before her and remained positive, as if she were only fighting off a cold. She amazed me. We had long conversations about anger, grief, living, loving and dying. If it were me I would have been curled up in the fetal position, while she invisioned a healthy, cancer free being. You couldn't help but feel the intensity of her words, their healing powers, their energy. She was candid in the most genuine way, I felt I had known her for a lifetime. She talked often about her love for Tom, her family and all her wonderful friends. They were faceless until tonight, but exactly as she had painted them in my mind. Mindi, I wish I would have known. My Memories Memories, so hard to pick just one and almost impossible when I think if Min...I cherish every day, no, every moment that I had the opportunity to know and laugh with Min. She was a dear friend whose laughter and jokes were so contagious that everywhere she went her funny wit and spirit attracted others to her like a magnet. She was the most inspirational, upbeat, positive person I have ever met...and it never failed, when I needed that, I could count on Min to be there!!! Min had the kindest; loving heart and always gave that to everyone she met without hesitation…I expect her to call and now miss the long chats we use to have…I know Min is the brightest angel up in heaven….and is looking down on us with that beautiful , bright smile.... Min, I will miss you forever and you will never be forgotten in my heart…

My Memories It is a sad heart that I write this...first for the loss of a such a wonderfully happy and uplifting friend, and for my inability to see everyone at Mindus Maximus' service. I think I speak for all of Min's friends when I say she had an incredibly warm infectious smile and personality that instantly put everyone at ease and encouraged everyone to do some the craziest things we've ever done! My Memories Like many of you I have many "videos" that run through my mind on our dear Mindis Maximus, The Blond Bombshell, Da' Bomb! I can visualize her (and hear her) singing karoake especially with our own Happy Cowboy (Tom). Times at horse camp with Min and Tom serenading us. Min leading Sunny the horse in the middle of the camp as she was showing him the beautiful moon. Fast rides through the hills of Pt Reyes. Singing in Tiberon. Her cute little bandanas and vests. Her straw hat that could never hide her BIG smile. Oh...that smile....WOW.....10,000 volts! Her elegance and determination in battling life's challenges especially this terrible disease. Wig parties! Sleeping in the camper. New Year's Eve party with her wonderful pink getup. Our first Monte Shone ride....how could I forget our favorite couple...she was so proud of her handsome Happy Cowboy by her side. Listening to Min on the phone. Her joys. Her challenges. My Memories Dear old friend...Where do I begin? Mindis & I met 25 years ago! There's not much more I can add to these pages, but can concur without a doubt, that you had us all laughing, crying, loving and living Girlfriend! When we first met, I too felt that immediate connection with her. That magnetic charisma, fun-loving nature, intelligence, imaginatation and beauty were just some of her wonderful attributes. Yes, life with Mindis was never dull! Conversations were the high-lights of one's day! She always seemed to "make a moment" for everyone; as she put others before herself! If there is anyone who lived life, Mindis sure did! Minis knew everyone. She knew my family in Pinole, CA & always had a way of capturing the funniest moments about people & being able to retell those moments in such a way, it just "brought you home!" I'll never forget our younger years (late 20's/30's) in the East Bay. We made so many transformations during those years, helping each other through the good & bad times! I was in Law Enforcement

My Memories Continued from my first entry.. and Mindis was in private investigation. Here are some Highlights of those years... Mindis impressed me w/ her knowlege of horticulture. She could name every flower & plant by its Latin name! She took on a truck driving job one summer. We took a memorable road trip one Christmastime and sung songs on the radio. She sung beautifully and I being tone deaf wanted to give up, but she made me sing anyway! She once predicted I would marry a nice young man and have 2.5 kids. I married a year later to my husband Steve of almost 22 years and we have three children. We have lived in Colorado since 1996, so Mindis & I drifted apart (at least in miles,never in spirt!). We live on a small horse ranch in Black Forest, CO with a view of Pike's Peak. Mindis never saw it, but wanted to visit. She just got too sick. I am glad I visited with her in 2007. My Memories Just this year in March, I was fortunate enough to get to spend some time with Min in Oregon. We drove her motor home to beach and laughed until we had tears in our eyes more than once. Mindis was one of the strongest women I have ever met and she will be missed.

My Memories My beautiful friend -- even more beautiful within than without. The memories -- where I you start? Our times with the horses -- whether we were riding, clearing manure, fixing fences, clearing trails, it was always fun. If there were chores to be done, Mindis was there. She rode beautifully - she made up songs to sing to my horses -- "Sonny's a good ole boy, a good ole boy," etc., etc. I will never hear music without thinking of Mindis. I never got to go fishing with her - Dang! How she loved her friends - and there were so many. Will I ever really accept that she's gone? I don't think so. It is just totally unacceptable. My Memories Mindi had me at hello. I was blessed the day that I met Mindi...our first hour together was the day that she walked into the salon and need a shampoo/style. She told me her experiences with breast cancer, and how her hair had come back with all these great curls...well, I thought they were great...she didn't. We laughed and cried in that first hour together. Amanda and I went on to share Mindi as a friend and client...both of us love her. Her warm eyes and beautiful smile. We had a blast celebrating her birthday with cupcakes and fancy sparkling orange beverages. We will truly miss her reflection in our mirrors, and wish we could have been there to celebrate her life. One thing Mindi would always say while sitting in our chairs..."i am happy. i am healthy. i am cancer free." I'm so happy for her that this is now true... We love you, Mindi.

My Memories I am truly sorry for your loss of Mindis. I never had the opportunity to meet her in person but I enjoyed the phone conversations that I did have with her. Her hopscotching from topic to topic always tickled me. It seemed that when I gathered enough information to respond intelligently to one subject she was already two more down the road on me. I came away from these chats convinced that this gal has got some real game. It sounds like your pal Mindis will leave behind her some very large and sad breaches in the lives of those who had surrounded her. I regret that she has lost her gallant fight. I know neither her friends nor her family, but there is a commonality none the less when someone shows the courage to lace up her boxing gloves good and tight to give it her best no matter what. My condolences to her family and friends.
