Comments I lived in Bynum on Stump Street from 1970 to 1975. My Brother, sister, and I attended Bynum Elementary. We played and ran around with our friends in Bynum and our parents did not worry about us. We attended Bynum Baptist. Miss my Bynum days. Life was much easier then. I hope I can attend the reunion. It would be great to see and hear from my Bynum friends.

Comments Oxford is planning on demolishing the old school building, keeping the newer annex bulding, to constuct a community center. If anyone would like to plan a reunion for all past students, that would be a good time. Everyone could probably take a brick as a momento. Just an idea...

Comments I was very sorry to hear of Betty Kinsaul's passing. Gail and Duane, your mother was a remarkable Lady in every since of the word. She was a wonderful GA leader, a pillow in the Bynum Baptist Church. At the Reunion in 2010 she and I had fond memories in GA and what a wonderful leader she was in the Bynum community. I will always treasure her and her love for all the girls there at Bynum Baptist

Comments Gary, this is just wonderful, you are a little older that I am but have some wonderful memories of your mother& father. My sister, Jeraldine Bible Norton and I were in DeSoto Manor for Janury 1952 until we moved over behind Carr's Grocery Store in 1963. One of our neighbors was Mrs. Rodgers, don't remember her first name but she was great. My Dad, John Bible, passed away on October 30, 1958 in DeSoto Manor, she set up outside her apartment for treat-or-treats, not to come over to our apartment, she feeds the children well just so they wouldn't disturb us next door. I also remember, Bynum Baptist Church and the GA program @ the church. YMA also, I graduated from Bynum in May 1959, This was the year that Bynum had a male teacher for 6th grade Mr. McQuire, I that he hung the moon. I guess I better close this chat session and get back to work, but I could go on for ever, I am looking for picture to send. Some of the Church activities, Christmas Choir, GA banquets, etc. just give me a little time, Agan this is GREAT

Comments My Hat is off to all of you wonderful people that had any part in Identifing all of these 141 pictures of the Re-union. I would suggest that all that attended, find their picture and make the identify for all of us to share. I know that my picture is 52, Annie (Bible) & Danny Dyer, this would help with some of the pictures in that I haven't seen some of these folks in many, many years.

Comments I was minister of music at Bynum Baptist Church in Late 1959 and 1960. Reverand Ray Watt and his wife Elise were there during my time.I started the Saks High School Band during the time I was there too. We have some fond memories of those days over fifty years ago. I went on to also start the Weaver High Band in 1969. We live in Lyncoya Heights in Saks and for many years have been better known as "The Singing Santa and Mrs. Claus". Come visit us at the Southeast Branch of The North Pole sometime. We'd love to see you.

Comments The study club was very similiar to what we recall as the Lions Club for the men. These ladies were interested in promoting the good things of Bynum like the school. Each year they sponsored an essay contest and the winner would receive a special prize. The hats were a fun project and they were all hand made. Helen Caudle, my mom is the lady on the left with a lamp shade hat with two sunflowers. She is looking up at the camera. The picture was made I believe in the lobby of the Officers club. Help us identify the rest of the ladies.
