Comments I stumbled upon this website over two years ago, but then could never find it again until today! I'm so happy, as Garrit Storm's narrative is a priceless document, and you've done a great service, both to historians and to genealogists, in publishing it online. I also have a "personal" interest in that Isaac G. Ogden, Garrit's wife's cousin was my maternal grandmother's great-grandfather. Garrit describes that branch of the family as having "always been, and still are, in decayed circumstances." Isaac G Ogden, one of the first members of the New York Stock Exchange, was never rich like Garrit, and clearly couldn't provide his seven sons and three daughters who reached adulthood with anything like the funds that Garrit left his two daughters! Garrit appears to have judged people, starting with his own relatives, entirely on how much money they had! Nevertheless, he comes across as a fascinating character with an amazing mixture of capabilities and limitations, and outstanding at self-portraiture. Does the New York Gen

Comments Thank you for posting Garrit Storm's narrative. I am descended from a different Storm line but I have passed along your site info to a man in Garrit's line, who was very glad to receive the info. Merry Christmas!

Comments Hello, While researching men from Harvard that served as ambulance drivers for the Norton-Harjes Formation, I came across C. Gouverneur Hoffman and began to research his service. In doing so, I came across your page. I would be very interested to know if you still may have any artifacts associated with Mr. Hoffman's service in WWI, particularly anything associated with his time as an ambulance driver. Thank you very much and Happy Holidays! Tom Fife
