Comments We too were in Phuket when the tsunami hit, but safe. We helped where we could (were there 17/12-29/01). A wonderful website. Incredible research and effort. Thank you very much. We'll be back there in May and see what else we can do then.

Comments Wow Peter, you have done an amazing job of this site. Thank you. This serves to help people understand the enormity of what happened. Even though I was there for the event and saw so many things, your website makes me understand so much more, especially when I read Franky's story.

Comments myself, wife & family donated £300 of food, drink,& other essentials that our family thought would be useful for the fishing villagers we spoke to when returning to our home in Ranong from phuket, on our return to these people in our trucks we were not allowed to give these supplies to the people, but had to travel to aid stations miles away from where they were, i found this most upsetting as did my thai family, my heart goes out to all those people & also to the many anonnymous donations from other farangs who went to help the people of The Land Of Smiles

Comments A wonderfull site on a terrible event. You seem to be people that want to help the Thai people back on their feet. My wife and I are going back in July and I want to help them in any way we can as Thailand is a special place to us full of special people.

Comments Thank you so much for this. I read every page in one sitting. I was on Koh Kho Khao island, very near Baan Nam Khem when the tsunami hit. I have been very worried about the Thai people who helped us survive ever since my return to the states. My boyfriend and I feel very lucky to have survived ... but now struggle with the fact that so many wonderful people are still suffering. I have been trying to figure out how to raise money and bring it back to the people who need it. Your website has been very informative and useful. Again, thank you.

Comments A truely moving an in-depth account of the un-imaginable event of December 26th 2004. The survivors struggle and fight for survival, and more recently their quest for a return to some kind of normality. Thank you Pete & Waree.

Comments Great to read your site. I'm in Phuket now and been doing my own little bit while I've been here including runs to Baan Nam Khem. It's making me feel a bit better about the situation :-) You can see my reports here http://www.bbc.co.uk/guernsey/features/asian_tsunami/index.shtml

Comments Dear Peter and Waree, I was very glad to read of your fantastic projects in Nam Khem. I have holidayed there, with my family, for the past 3 years and we have a good many friends there. I wish I had known about your work before we went there this January. We helped out a few of our friends in small ways and were very impressed by the efforts of the smaller groups such as yours. I am a paramedic and my wife a nurse and we would like to offer our services to your group should they ever be needed in Thailand. Best wishes and thankyou for your continued work on behalf of my friends in Nam Khem. Matthew and Ann Goodey

Comments Peewee, very nice site with a lot of pertinent information. many sites related to the tsunami havn't been updated. Did some volountering work myself, but with the requirement of a working permit, I had to bow out being in Thailand on a retirement visa. Good luck with the follow up. Cheers...kandt

Comments I consider myself a friend of Thailand and the Thai people, having visited there several years ago. It just made me sick with worry seeing what has happened there. However I admire the will of the Thai people to rebuild their lives. Your website was most informative. I will never forget the survivor's story. I might visit Phuket in April for vacation, and wish I could do something to assist the people while I am there. Best wishes, Jeff Nelson.

Comments Amazing. Your photos in nam khem show some of the saape scenes as ours. My wife lost 7 family there, and we were in and out of the area frequently for a year after the Tsunami. Great web site. You can see some here: http://new.photos.yahoo.com/jayjoneshq/album/576460762323413065.

Comments Just happened on your web site and was surprised that there is still so much concern over the Tsunami Victims - of course it made me realise that we are quick to forget and this is a huge mistake. I wish you well and will now renew my own efforts to assist where I can Thanks for all the extremely useful information and the pictures. Jane and familey
