I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THE POPE IS SCARED OF THE PIUS X SOCIETY...THE TRADITIONAL MASS HAS NO....DESTRACTION..I HAVE BEEN GOING TO A HIGH MASS LASTING 1 1/2 HRS. AND IT SEEMED ONLY 45 MIN. YOUR ARE SO INVOLVED WITH THE MASS..OUR REG/MASS EVERYTHING IS A DESTRACTION EVERYBODY FIGHTING FOR THE SEATS IN THE BACK. SO THEY CAN LEAVE EARLY, KIDS SLEEPING IN THE PUES, GIRLS HARDLY DRESSED FOR RECEIVING THE COMMUNION, AND BOY WEARING HATS....THEN THEY PLAUDE THE CHOIR, THIS ISN'T A CONCERT....THAT IS THE DIFFERENCE IN THE TWO MASSES.....GIVE US OUR TRADITION LATIN MASS THAT JESUS TAUGHT US ...THE CHURCH HAS REALLY MESSED UP...THE WORD ROMAN CATHOLIC TRADITION USED BY SOME OF THE CHURCHES IN LAS VEGAS, IS SALE PITCH TO GET PEOPLE IN TO GET THEIR MONEY, WHAT REALLY GET'S ME THEY LOOK TO SEE HOW MUCH MONEY YOU GIVE ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU NEED THEM FOR A FUNERAL, THAT PART OF THAT TIME IS HARD, THEY MAKE IT HARDER, AMD REFUSE THE FUNERAL SHAME ON THEM....

I attended the Latin Mass at St. Mary's church in Oswego, NY recently and when I am able to I try to go to church. I have been raised on attending the orig. masses in brroklyn new york and am going to be 65 yrs. of age. My spouse, Marvin and I, got married in l965, in Brooklyn NY and we had a high mass at St. Gabriel's church, Brooklyn NY. I also attended novenas, and missions, with my dec. Mom, Ann. I feel I am truly blessed with the legacy of a rich Catholic faith. My Spouse and I moved to Oswego in l970 but I have been part of Oswego since I was born, as my great aunt Catherine (Italian immigant) raised her family here and my famiy and I lived upstairs from my Italian immigrant grandparents -- and aunt catherine was my grandmothers only sibling who migrated from Italy as she left others behind. So, it came to be, that we made visits to Oswego so that my grandmothe could see her sister along with many nieces and nephews. I have lots of cousins here and my dear dec. Mom passed away 2-28-07. Hi Father; Thank you for this site. I only just discovered it, but I'm sure I'll want to re-visit often. Perhaps one day when the Church has awakened from its deep slumber, this site will not be unusual, but just another Catholic site. But I do have a specific question about the language that's been set forth in the Latin of the Tridentine Mass under the "1962 Ordinary of the mass". In the Confiteor, the phrase "et vobis, fratres" was used; whereas in my youth I learned that phrase as "et tibi, pater". As we know, the Novus Ordo Mass in the vernacular says "and you my brothers and sisters", (et vobis fractures), instead of "and you, Father". So my question is this: was the Roman Rite language "officially" changed somewhere along the way; or is this a case of the Latin Mass conforming to the practice that is going on in the Novus Ordo Mass? Dear Friends, Thanks for having a wonderful site for Latin Mass.I am a devout,traditional Xavierian Catholic from Southern tip of India where I have attended and assisted priests on Latin Masses as a boy.Today I don't see all those heavenly blessings and long to see one on a video atleast.I am on the look out for one such opportunity.I am 55 now.I find our catholic liturgical traditions and flavours are totally lost by the Vatican II dictums.It was like a satanic intervention to ruin the church and true chritian values.Once West was the true gaurdian of World Christianity.Look at the saints God gave us from Europe.Oh,no... we have conducted a burrial of catholicism and the the sad plight is we do not realize the hard realities of today's chritianity.Europe has to re-discover Christ,Catholicism,and its missions.I feel very sad at the stage of today's catholics in the West and the disintegrated liturgical credibilities of the yore.Currently I work as a lay missionary teaching Fundamental English and Business Communication in Central
