Comments A life well lived - a doer of the Word and not a hearer or writer only. It was a privilege to know him and to benefit from his life and ministry. We continue to pray for the services and outreach of these coming days. Thanks to all of you who ministered to him in life and in death.

Comments I was touched by Bill's Commentary on Psalms 91 (he titled it as "My Psalm") in Believer's Bible Commentary. A boy of about 6 years was about to die, and someone came to his mother and promised her that he would not die then, but live for many years. The mother asked that gentleman, what made him to assure her so. He said that he read Psalms 91 that morning and verse 16 read, "With long life will I satisfy him, and show him my salvation." The boy in the death bed more than 70 years ago was none other than Br. William MacDonald! Bill committed his life to writing and preaching that God's promises and His Word are true, and even in his death he silently conveyed the truthfulness of HIS Word and promises. Praise the Lord.

Comments We will ever remember his gentleness when we stayed in San Leandro in 1993/94. Unforgotten the breakfast in his appartement, or the interest he shared in conversation (as if nothing could be more important). Even our kids were touched, when - after a youth-conference - he and Jeff stayed in our house (near to the airport of Munich, when his plane could not leave because of 9-11, 2001). The colaboring with Jean Gibson, his written work and his life-example will be allways a challenge for us. Praise God for what he's done through him. May the torch be passed on in our lifes, until the Lord comes. Uwe

Comments Bill was to me the best example I've ever had of a Christian gentleman. I saw so many times when he quietly and humbly served the people around him, no doubt hoping he would not be noticed. He was one of the most approachable, genuine men I've ever known and had a great sense of humor. Once, during an outstanding speaking engagement at the assembly in Anchorage, AK, Bill arrived early for a Sunday morning brunch and quietly began setting up the tables and chairs! I will miss Bill enourmously but look forward to eternity with one of the finest men I've ever had the pleasure of knowing.

Comments Bill was such a good example of one who followed hard after the Lord. He was an inspiration to me. While he will be missed, the testimony of his life, and the teachings in his writings, will continue to effect many for a long time to come.

Comments Benjamin Franklin composed this epitaph for himself: speaking of his body once dead, as an old book, its contents torn out and stripped of its lettering and guilding- “The body lies here, food for worms, But the work shall not be lost; For it will appear once more, In a new and more elegant edition Revised and corrected By the Author. Leon Jaworski wrote like this – “Death for the Christian is turning off the light because the dawn has come.” When the earthly lights were turned off our dear brother would have been enjoying the heavenly lights, never again to be darkened by the earthly shadows; away from his earthly tent to a permanent abode, in the presence of his Savior, who he loved so dearly and committed his life to as a ‘true disciple’. I will miss you dear brother, your wisdom, your godly counsel & your friendship. You were a wise godly man with humble heart; a ‘Gentle Giant’ to the feeble ones. See you later. You took an interest in me and helped me with encouraging letters and books. You also encouraged me to attend Emmaus which I did after getting out of the Coast Guard in 1965. We know the Lord will hear and answer our prayers on your behalf. God bless you.

Comments I was in the 1980 Intern Program. We got to see and experience the incredible generosity of this godly man. During a visit with him at Greenwood Hills where he was speaking at a summer conference, he asked us all about our family, the ministry and how my art career was doing. The news was good and not so good on our part at that time due to changes in the art field as a result new technological directions of advertising, i.e.cyberspace. The conversation continued and he kept asking how we were doing financially. We didn't think much of it at the time and had a very nice visit with him. Just before we left, he went to his briefcase and went through some papers giving us an envelope. We took it and I put it in my Bible. I assumed it was a newsletter or something. We prayed and left the Conference ground to go home. Around three miles down the road Janne opened the envelope and discovered that Bill had generously given us his check of $1,000 for his week of ministry! To state the obvious, we were overwhelmed with gratitude and emotion.
