Comments I was a UH-60 Blackhawk mechanic assigned to Delta Co. 2/82d Avn from 87-88. I've always been proud of serving in the 82nd Airborne AND the 82nd CAB. Comments H-13-H crewchief, Combat Aviation Company,82nd. Aviation Battalion (Prov.), 1960-1962. I,and other Avn. vets,have attended many All American Week events and have seen the expansion of the Bn. to Bde.,and re-location from the original barracks to the (then) new locations across the quadrangle, and, recently,the move to the huge new facilities on Longstreet Rd. We also saw the huge expansion of Simmons AF and the amazing evolution from the rotary and fixed wing crates of our time to the present-day machines. We hope to see more Aviation vets at the AAWeek event of 16-21 May, 2011. Cheers, Mike St.George

Comments In 11/1984 reported to Co A, 82nd Combat Aviation Battalion as Aviation Operations Sp (borrowing space @ Pope AFB); barracks and Orderly/Supply Rooms at Smoke Bomb Hill. While there, the transition to the Brigade ocurred and I ETS'ed in 04/1987. In 1989 joined Puerto Rico National Guard and added 18 years of Active Duty to retire in 2008. The PRARNG Aviation family mourns the loss of CW2 Carlos Acevedo (also 82nd Aviation Veteran as 15P), CW3 Hector Ramirez and SSG Omar Sostre in the UH-72 fatal accident of 12/20/2010 off the northern coast of the island. RIP brothers!!!
