Comments My 4g grandfather was a soldier in Company K. I thought you might be interested in his story, as he is buried in Arlington under the wrong name. Here is a link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xwCFIyjm0Wg Would your organization be interested in helping to persuade the government to correct Private Nichols' headstone? I'm looking at your schedule now, and hope to make it to one of your events this year. Looking forward to seeing your group in person.

Comments My Great-Great Grandfather served with the 11th until the battle at Mummasburg Rd. He took three wounds during that battle and was sent to Chestnut Hill to recover. I have been a reenactor for a long time and haven't done ACW since the late 90's. But am interested in joining the 11th, in no small part, to honor my grandfather. Because of the distance I doubt I would be able to attend too many events. Would that be a problem with your organization?

Comments Great website, enjoyed going thru it and looking at the photos. With regards to the photo of the regiment taken on 9/25/1908, do you have a listing of who was in the photo ? My great-great-great grandfather was in the 11th (company e), and would have been alive at the time (and may have been there). Various members of my family think they see a family resemblance to one of the gentlemen in the picture.

Comments Hi Bob & Joyce, Merry Christmas to all. I have been talking with a guy from Washington,DC. We have been talking for sometime. He restores Civil War flags. He is now working on a project with Union flags that were captured and just been found. I have asked him to give me a list of the new flags that were just found. I will pass this info to you when I get it. He told me that the 11ths flag had been captured at 2nd Bull Run. He made it clear It was the 11th Vol. not the 11th Reserve. I didnt know this. He is looking for information on Grants first offensive. June 15th to June 18th.1864 on the 2nd and the 9th Corp. Flags have been found for the 106th and the 145th Pa. Regt. The flags were captured on one of the days above. If you guys have any info on this please forward it to me. Thanks. Love you guys. Doc.

Comments Hello. My business publishes the new Civil War souvenir poster, "The Loyalty Of Dogs: A Tribute to the Dogs of the American Civil War," whose sales benefit homeless animals in shelters and rescues. It is touching how so many visitors to Gettysburg have their photos taken with Sallie's statue as a special remembrance. I am adding a "Visitors" page to the LoyaltyOfDogs Web site for photos from people who would like to share them. Would your members be interested in adding the wonderful group photo from your Web page to the upcoming "Visitors" page at LoyaltyOfDogs.com? Thank you for your consideration.

Comments It's touching how often Gettysburg visitors leave gifts at Sallie's statue. There are flags, biscuits, coins, or flowers, nearly every time I visit. Equally touching are the many photos visitors have taken of themselves with Sallie. People--often with their own dogs--and even whole families and bus tour groups have posed with Sallie for a special souvenir of their visit. Do you have such a photo that you'd like to share? LoyaltyOfDogs.com (http://www.LoyaltyOfDogs.com), a site celebrating the faithful dogs of the American Civil War, is collecting them to post on a new "visitors" page that is being developed for the site. To share a photo of yourself or your dog with Sallie, please "tweet" us @loyaltyofdogs or use our site's "Contact Us" form. Thank you for your consideration.

My Fianceand i have been thinking of joing an group, She is a nurse and would like to portray a nurse and I am retired from the Army after 22 years. Comments Guys, the 88th descendents will be conducting Oak Ridge clean up on 9 Nov and would love it if we could coordinate our efforts now and henceforth. Also, we were notified by "Amanda" at NPS that power tools (mowers and weed whackers) will no longer be allowed on the field for monument cleanup. I guess they expect us to bring a herd of sheep next. We'll be engaging the NPS on this new policy directly now that 150 is over.

Comments I enjoyed the site. I wish I could get involved but living in Houston all of the re-enactors here are Rebels. I enjoy CW history and do Cowboy Action Shooting. I found the site because my grandmother's grandfather (David C. Murphy)was with Company E 11 Pa. Vol. He was wounded at Gettysburg and was a POW at Salisbury prison for 9 months before returning to the group. My grandmother used to tell me about his experience because of a letter that he wrote from prison. Unfortunately, it is lost to time. Thank you all for your dedication to the men who served our country. Mike Rappe

Comments I have an ancestor ( lateral ) who was in the 11th Company E. I was surfing for sites for the 11th and found yours. I am a historian of Andersonville National Historic Site and thought I would offer some information if interested. There are 8 on record of the 11th Company K on record at Andersonville. 3 regulars and 5 reserve. Three of them died at Andersonville and I have grave photos if you would like them.
