Comments Great site!! I was hoping you could help explain a possible mod on a DX-100 I am rebuilding. There is a heavy wire soldered to the stator plate frame of the driver variable capacitor and extending through a hole that has been drilled in the vertical plate separating the finals section from the rest of the rig. The heavy wire has a slip on insulation to keep it from grounding through the hole, but it has been snipped off inside the finals area and I cannot see where it was originally attached. Have you ever seen this wire before? I cannot find it on any DX-100 or 100-B schematics. Thanks for you help! 73, Steve KS6A KS6A@sbcglobal.net

Comments Hi, I have a Newcomb "Tr-1625" player with a blown speaker. I'm looking for the "ohm" value needed on a replacement 12" speaker. Interesting site. I accidently fell into a hobby of collecting electron tube and testers. It started by way of my interest in older guitar amplifiers.

Comments I have two 1493's: 1)with stepper and hooked to 100 play wallbox 2) a very rare ReverbaSound model with reverberation unit. The box was found without the reverb amplifier so I built my own from the schematics in the operating manual. Also own: 404 and 414. Would love to know where I can find another 100 play wallbox for the 404. Oh yeah, and 2 sets of 1621 speakers and a set of 1623's.

Comments Very neat website! Combination of amateur radio and audio materials are very interesting and quite educational as well. This site works well to preserve the memories of Mel Blanc and several others. Keep up the good work as it is truly a labor of love!

Comments Have been a collector of Old Time Radio -OTR- for years. Have hundreds of 16-inch transcriptions, acetate as well as lacquer coated aluminum. Subject matter includes public service Army, Navy music programs, hundreds of Standard, NBC Orthocoustic, Lang-Worth, BBC, Radio Australia. Syndicated programs- mystery, comedy, music (some of my favorites are the Chicago Theater of the Air, with Col. McCormick (Tribune, WGN) lambasting FDR before the light opera probram), House Unamerican Comm. hearings (Hollywood producers, writers and others in the film business accused of being Communist), local Dialing For Dollars type quiz shows, Series programs, US and Australian, etc., etc... Also collect 16mm film. Have hundreds: features, shorts, 'toons, docs., etc. Willing to trade. Email questions, and would like to know about other collections of transcription discs, film, radios. Thanks, M.M.

Comments Outstanding site. Found it while searching for 78's for my '47 Rockola. Forwarded it to my 101st Abn. combat buddy ('69) in FL who also loves this stuff. I'm not far (Modesto) & would love to see the old broadcast gear if you're still in Stockton. Remember listening to KJOY & KSTN when in hi-school. The fountain in front of KJOY studio was filled with soap suds one evening in '64 or '65. Darn teenagers! Wonder who could have done that!
