Women have equal rights with men. Nun represents for women and priest represents for men. We don't have to argue about this statement instead we have to spread the good news about the Lord and to make the world a better place for everybody. ------------------------------ Louie Suffering from an addiction. I am proud and glad I can still play my active, participating role in the Church. And so should everybody else: just do what Your talents allow You to do. People should stop "having issues with any Church", they should stick to God's Words. I do not know what all the fuss is about. God never ordained women as Priests, so why should we change God's Will, again. But, I note with sadness that less and less young men being altar boys, more and more girls at the service. Let things go their natural way. Girls have a natural, better serving ability than boys. Our Sisters do an awfully good job, in what they are doing. So, why draw them away from that beautiful task. It would create a damaging vacuum.

This is so sad. In your own section of this site about women serving as deacons in the early church, you list all of their functions and duties. It seems that you are all confusing the DIAKONATE with the PASTORAL OFFICE. Diakonia is certainly a wonderful way for women to serve with their God-given gifts (caring for women, showing compassion with the sick and dying, teaching the faith, etc.) but the pastoral office, which is given to MEN (stop blaming Rome--the Bible speaks on this, undeniably) is just not given to women, by God. We need to understand this truth...otherwise we pervert Scripture and cause corruption in the church. As a woman, I believe that there is a place for everyone...the diakonate is not inferior, it is distinct. And that is a wonderful thing:)

I am very glad that you encourage women to search the Holy Orders. As a Catholic bishop in possession of a valid Apostolic Succession, independant from Rome, I have ordained many women to the priesthood. They have served for years with dedication and distinction. However, I am surprized that the Catholic Churches which promote women's ordinations are not really mentionned in your web site. There is no doubt in my mind that Rome will not change its attitude for at least a generation or two. In the mean time, we probaly be all dead, and thousands of good Catholics will not have received proper sacramental ministry because of a penury of male priests.... Keep up the good work. +M.

I have been in ministry for 31 years now, 17 of which has been in the pastorate. Our jurisdiction is small and part of the Independent Catholic movement. We are pro-woman, pro-life, pro-Scriptures and pro-Christ in that we are part of the Convergence Movement of Christianity. We stress the use of the Sacramental to bring healing through 12 Steps Christian Recovery as we especially minister to people hurting from sexual and substance abuse. We support the movement in the Roman Catholic Church for ordination being open to women who have been called by Christ. We also urge women who have a vocation to prepare to minister not only through study, but through much prayer and service. If anyone would like to hear about our particular jurisdiction, please click on to http://pastor-t.tripod.com/cclc God bless you.

Dear readers, I want to let you know that in our church, the Liberal Catholic Church in the Netherlands, a woman wil be ordained into the priesthood by bishop Mgr. P. Baaij. These ordinations take place in our church since 2003. However, this is only the second time in these four years that a woman will get this ordination. But we are really very happy with this important step forward! The ordination takes place next saturday, January 27th in the church of St. Michael and all Angels, Meentweg 9 in Naarden, the Netherlands. The service starts at 11.00 AM. The deacon who will get the ordination is my wife, mrs. Eleonore Kemperink. I know this website Womenpriests has a roman catholic signature. However, I hope this important happening in the Liberal Catholic Church will be a next contribution upon the stimulation of the discussion worldwide concerning women ordinations! greetings Henry Hagen Liberal Catholic Church in the Netherlands Hoevelaken

I think that if Jesus really wanted Women Priests, he would have chosen 12 women apostles instead of 12 men apostles, and if that were so, then he would have more than likely chose His mother Mary and Mary Magdalene as His first picks for women apostles to spread the Gospel. We all know that the 12 men apostles were specifically chosen and not 12 women by the Lord, Jesus. We must respect Jesus' authority on the matter of men only saying Mass, because the priest and not priestesses represent Christ when reinacting Calvary and the consecration of His Body, Soul, and Divinity in rememberance of Him until His return. Please Stop dividing this beautiful Mystical Body of Christ and let His Church be purified by ridding itself of the 1% of pedifile priests. Did you know that other denominations other than Catholic have unmarried and married pastors that are pedifiles and go unreported. The Holy Catholic Church needs our unity and one in the spirit of prayer for more priests that are Jesus called men to feed His sheep and His lamb

I think that if Jesus really wanted Women Priests, he would have picked 12 women apostles instead of 12 men apostles, and if that were so then he would have chosen His mother Mary and Mary Magdalene as His first picks. This site is undermining the Authority of the Holy Spirit and the Magistarium of the Church. If you want women priests and deacons, go join all the other denominations of Protest ants and excommunicate yourselves like Martin Luther did. Stop dividing this Mystical Body of Christ by your proposed out of the mind doctrines. We have enough problems within the Church to deal with because of all the negativity against our Holy Catholic Church. Next, you will be wanting women lesbian priests and on and on... Jesus was correct in choosing 12 men! Do not undermine His authority and His Church. Anita

This has to be the silliest notion I have ever seen. The justifications (i.e., "no valid reason") amount to nothing more than opinion and weak "scholarship". I respectfully suggest consideration on your part for what Christ has called you to do vice dwelling upon what you can't do. We all have our part and for women that does not mean being priestesses.

I want to salute you for your courageous efforts to bring renewal to our beloved RC church! I'm an inactive priest, ordained for the Portland Oregon archdiocese in 1971. Once we get over the hangups with ordaining people regardless of their gender, marital status and sexual preference - watch this faith community of ours take off - it will be unbeatable when it comes to evangelizing and bringing the good news of Jesus to the world which so sorely needs it!
