I was a Vindi boy in oct 1960 when the barges hit the Severn bridge. Can't remember my number. From there joned the English Star to N Zealand, got a DR and ended up on a Swedish tramp and then became a Pirate. Would love to connect to any Vindi boys there at that time.

Hello I am wondering if any one remembers my dad Anthony John Micheal O'Shea. He sadly died on May 17th 2020. 7 days after his birthday 10/05/1944. aged 76 after a very quick illness. He was a wonderful man and i know he had made contact with the vindy boyes some years prior. He went to vindy with his best fried Gavin Dean both from shaftesbury in dorset in around 1960 at the age of the 14. If any one remebers my wonderful dad i wouls love to hear from you . (Following on from my previous message the ending of which seems to have 'jumped ship!) There are still many old 'Vindi boys' out there who are unaware of our fine association, so if you know of any ... inform the press gang! Understandably there are fewer comments on the Guest Book page this year, no doubt due to the passing of Robin Hurst our previous website bosun who did a sterling job over the years that he held the seat and of course with his passing the site was closed down, happily for only a short time as 'Vindi Boy' Mike Rudd volunteered to take the seat and restart the website, no mean task, but he is doing a great job (and volunteers are as rare as hens teeth!) so let's support him, as along with the excellent 'Vindi News' these are our main source of information and communication and long may they continue. On behalf of the TSVA Committee to all shipmates both home and abroad, have the best Christmas you can under these very trying circustances and hope for calm waters in 2021

Calling all 'Vindi boys' 2020 has been a year few of us will forget and apart from the tragic human cost of this pandemic the the lockdown throughout the world has and is still having a devastating affect on most of our lives, here in the UK, the home of the TSVA, one of the hundreds of events cancelled due to 'lockdown' was our annual reunion at Sharpness, the first time in 25 years! However, quite a number of us did 'bite the bullet' and spent the weekend at Sharpness, a sort of unofficial reunion, the new stewards and staff of the Dockers Club made us very welcome and for those that booked, served up some fine meals while adhering to social distancing rules etc. so, a big thanks to them. Of course there was no AGM, or Church service etc, but it was encouraging to see some 40/50 making the effort, normally at the AGM I would give the figures for new 'old boys' joining, not surprisingly these figures are down substantially this year,so shipmates, if we want our association to continue to flourish, put the word out, as the

My dad Ronald Bond sadly crossed the bar on the 7th September aged 87. he trained on the Vindicatrix during the late 1940s and spent many years at sea. his funeral is this Thursday 19th sept at Weston Super Mare Crematorium (in Worle) If there are any Vindi boys available to attend and represent the TSVA this would mean so much to his family

Done the deed 1964 R801091 had 29 years away 27 with the Royal Fleet Auxiliary and 20 years on the Oil Rigs Loved the Sea as a Cook. Cruise a lot now see how the other half lives.

I was at the vindi from November 63-feb 1963,still in good health,sadly I only did the one journey to Australia Tasmania but the whole merchant thing was something I would have hated to have missed,friend on the ship the m v Delphic,benstead from London at the vindi allan allsopp who sadly passed on with heart problems
