When I first met Sandy, she wasn't sure what to make of me, to put it nicely. I found her to be intimidating. She said what she felt and lived true to her heart. I didn't get to know her for very long, but the impact that she made on my life has been profound. From her example, I learned the beauty, grace and strength of an independent, intelligent and funny woman. I often think about her when I have challenges with being a mom myself, and find so much inspiration. Even still, after all this time, I can feel her guidance and love. I will always be grateful for the wonderful dinners at her house. Not so much for the food, which was awesome, but for the sense of family and love - the real reasons for being together. She is an amazing spirit, mom, woman and friend. And, just to let her know, I still have the purple tambourine that she gave out for Seder. Love to you all - Les, Greggie, Dave and Jason., and to all of your loves as well. Thanks for sharing your mom with me.

To know her was to love her. How honored I was to be gifted with her friendship during the last days of her life. What a blessing to have a mother-in-law who you love and connect with as to be true friends. We became family. I miss her everyday and wish she was here everyday. We had so many wonderful times together and so much fun that I feel honored to have had that time yet I'm aware of how fleeting it was. We shared a love for Jason and our family as a whole. We shared laughs and cries and joys, shopping and brunches and dinners. I dream of her often and know she is there. I hope she knows how many truly loved her. Les's cousin... Although we only met Sandy twice at family reunions in N.J. We felt a family connection right away. Les spoke highly of her each time she couldn't make it. Sandy to me means love, strength, humor and friendship. Being part of Sandy's mastermind group, I felt her pain, saw renewed hope, admired her indomitable spirit, and reveled in her love for her family and friends. For her Birthday in 2002 I wrote her a poem, which expresses my feelings for Sandy, then and now, knowing that she is whole, perfect and complete on the other side of the veil. i am sitting here crying and remembering so many, many times we all shared together. I lokk at sandy in her ethel schultz costume and remeber that hallowe'en as if it were yesterday. I see the three of us at Jason's Bar Mo,Susan, sandy and I and can feel whta I was feeling then. She was not only my cousin, but my friend. No one or nothing could ever replace her in my heart. We shared a lifetime of joy and heartbreak together. She was quite simply "the best".

Although I didn't know Sandy for many years it sure felt that way. When we met it was an instant connection. She said my publication Speakers for FREE just showed up at her feet and she had to reach out. It felt as though I knew Sandy forever. She reminded me of my girlfriends from Queens, NY and she just felt so familiar. We came from the same tribe. I loved her sense of humor. She always made me laugh. I told her that she should do a one women show and she just blew me off..thought I was silly. I wish I had written down some of those lines-they were precious. For her 60th birthday celebration I suggested that she might take singing lessons and she kept saying no and then finally agreed to allow me to gather our friends together for a collective present. Funny that I had William Hanrahan in mind and I think Hilary suggested him too. And she did it and really enjoyed it. I was walking on a country road in Oregon last week and looked up and saw a beautiful angel cloud formation and I knew it was San letting me
