I have section hiked the old Pinhoti Trail and all the side trails in Talladega National Forest. I would like to find someone and continue hiking the new sections. I just turned 50 and It's been about 3 years since my last hike (FYI). I primarily want to stick to the Pinhoti, although I would like to hike other trails in Alabama, and around the Smokey Mountain National Park area. Drop me a line.

Having done a lot of hiking it would be nice to see a map of the trails described in the article. Unless is geographically knowledgable the roads mean very little until the braod description is given first. As an example trails in northern Alabama may not be of interest if the time avaliable is limited to the a day and only a particular part of the state. The Alabama hiking trails web site is terrible for this. They give very detailed directions but do not give commonly know landmarks to know where they are starting from. Your site is informative.
