I often relate to my friends how influential Al was in my life. I sailed with Al for many years aboard his boat "Southern Cross"; he was our neighbor and he grabbed me to help sail his boat. To this day I remember the very special gift Al gave me; I spent my teenage years sailing with incredibly intelligent and talented surgeons. I became a yacht designer in pursuit my dreams and Al helped me understand that you can realize your dreams if you stick with them and work hard at it.

Dr Delormier saved my daughters life 43years ago. I was only sixteen and very young to understand what was going on but he always took the time to help me understand my daughters disease called hershbrungs. He took such good care the many operations she had. I will not find and cannot find another Dr that understands this disease. I am saddened that such a great person is gone too early as he had so much to give. Thanks you Dr Delormier for saving my baby

I live in Alexander and Margarets first home in Lansing...Sadly I can find no photos anywhere out on the net although I have over four thousand photos now of the rest of the residents of the home. Alexander McMichael was born July 16, 1831. In 1862 he married Margaret De Lormier, of Dubuque, Iowa. She was a daughter of Peter and Margaret De Lormier. Mr. McMichael resides in Lansing, Iowa; he and wife are members of the Presbyterian church. They have had four children, three living--Alexander, Bertha and baby. I love to find a contact from this line if there is one or to obtain a copy of any known photos all at my cost of course. It is fun putting people up for free at the house also.

I was so very saddened to read of Dr. D's passing. I was his secretary for a number of years and just now ran across of the article of this great loss. He was the most wonderful man and dedicated physician I have every met in my life. I have the utmost respect for him and will always keep him in my thoughts and prayers. I am also keeping Sandy and the family in my prayers as well! My deepest sympathies. I'm so sorry I'm just now learning his news 2 years later!

Dr, D saved my lif when I was 9 years old I would have died if I had not found him, I am so soory to hear of his passing, I am now 47 and at the end stage of C.D. I owe him my life he was a kind gental man with really big hands as I remember how close we were during our time together. I hope I can find a Dr 1/2 as good to save me now.

Your dear Dr.deLomimier saved my sons life twice 22 years ago, and I have never stopped talking about him and his kindness and support to a lost single pregnant mother with already two small children. His strength and magic saved my son's life and pulled our family together and we all thrive now. It was with great sadness that I heard of his passing, from a new found friend of a few years go, who happens to be Maggie's (Big Al-Maggie's World) Mother, Sally. But the sadness was surpassed with joy as we discovered he had saved both our children's lives and discussed the miracles Dr. deLorimier had blessed upon us both and so many, many other children over the years. I knew Dr deLorimier primarily at meetings of Pediatric Surgeons. He was highly revered by members of our specialty. I always enjoyed talking with him and felt particularly honored as a rank and file member. He never failed to greet me enthusiastically. HE will be remembered for his contributions to our field, and I will miss his personal warmth.
