Comments I went to the Iowa versus Michigan wrestling meet this past Saturday 02/13/11. Iowa was ranked second as of Saturday. Iowa won by the score of 30 to 7. This meet brought back so many memories of wrestling that I just thought I would let all who read this site know how much being involved with Batavia wrestling ment to me.

Looking at some of them brings back memories, and not all of them smell good if you know what I mean and I think you wrestlers do. In the interest of accuracy, I'd like to point out that the Echo incorrectly switched the titles "Fresh-Soph" and "Varsity" of the 1963-64 squad photos.

Comments I will try to be there on the 5th. I hope to see some '90s representation (athletes and coaches). I echo some of the other comments. Coaches Rumple, Drendel, and Salisbury deserve their just rewards. Wrestling was my least favorite sport to practice. However, it is the sport I miss the most.

Comments I am looking forward to the event. After lettering as a varsity wrestler at a division 1 college program for 3 years, I can say without doubt, that my experience as a Batavia wrestler was the most rewarding athletic experience of my life. It helped make me who I am today. Coaches Cliff, Major, and Rumple should all be in Illinois' Coaching Hall of fame. Not for the excellent wrestlers they coached, but the fine young men they helped mold!!!
