They seem to be from the 20’s or 30’s, maybe earlier. 3 photos, one labeled “an underground garage at fenwick hall”. Another shows a front view with a barn to the right, and another is a front view with a family posed by the steps. Would love to show these to you! Comments Really like your site. I live in the condo's next door and just moved here after 40 years in Memphis. I had know idea I was living next to the Stono River or and old plantation home when I moved here. I drove in the back way. Boy was I in for a surprise. We all hate the new apartments that went in on Maybank Highway. I hope that is not where the slaves graveyard was.

Comments I was the repair contractor for 12 Oaks for ten years or so. I heard so many ghost stories of sightings and poltergeist, type, flickering of lights, opening and closing of doors, and objects falling off of shelves and at times household items being in random places on the floor when the tenants would come home. Most of the incidents happened in building 3. Building 2 then 4 on that order of frequency. The ghost seen was usually a young white girl. The sounds heard were always a girl sobbing or crying. Building three is closest to the Allee gate. Two is next closest on the Allee. Four is on the river side of three. In the photo with the horse the stables look kind of close to that area and I have found square nails in the ground around the giant oak closest to the gate where cars turn around. A plumber named Ralph McLaughlin told a resident lady and I that Fenwick was haunted. His family is from that area. He said that a daughter they fell in love with a stable boy, and the father had the stable boy killed. He also said tha

My 4 th Great Grandfather was in the Revolutionary War and fought in a battle near Stono River. I love history and I love that this place has so much to offer . Thank you for your work.

Comments In the late 80's my Dad stayed here at Fenwick Hall as he recovered from Alcohol Addiction. He is now passed on yet I'm pleased to say he never returned to his addiction after his stay.
