Comments I have fished Sugar Creek several times with limited success. But when the water and weather conditions improve I will be back. Great idea, CITU. to use Sugar Creek for an additional trout fishery.

Comments Fish were seen rising for a recent hatch. One rainbow was caught on a stimulator fly but more rises were seen for smaller flies such as adams and parachute adams ~ size 16 hooks.

Comments Two of the three rainbows were caught on a beaded nymph paired with a stone fly nymph tied under a hopper style fly. One of the rainbows was caught on a black Adam’s dry fly. A hatch was going on witch resulted in many porpoising trout and rises. A quick google search says the flies could be midges or BWO mayflies. I was not able to closely examine the flies but they were everywhere.

Comments Caught some nice fish in the riffles. Did catch 1 with a lamprey attached. The lamprey fell off just as I got the fish to the net. I inspected the fish and it looked healthy to me.
