Comments I saw the tribute to Violette, Etienne and Tania at the Jersey War Tunnels. I had an emotional experience reading about their courage and felt humbled that Violette and Etienne gave their lives so that we could live our lives without fear.

Comments I first read the book 'Carve her name with pride' many years ago, and purchased the film, also some years ago. My daughter, who is a history teacher, gave me a book called 'The secret war' some time ago and re-kindled my interest in Violette Szabo. Just the idea that such a young lady could place herself so deliberately in harm's way makes her an example that should be admired and loved by any freedom loving person in this or any other country. I was born just before the end of the war, in 1943, and I feel even now that I, and others of my age, owe so much to people like Violette, who gave so unstintingly, and wanted so little, except the removal of a great evil, and were prepared to give their lives for their beliefs. Speak her name with pride

Comments Hello Tania, I hope my letter finds you well. I found the reference to you and your book quite by accident actually.I was originally enquiring on a google page for any information about your very beautiful and brave mother. Having read of all of Violette's exploits I realised there was even more to Her than I had previously learnt. I first read the book about Violette, ''Carve Her Name With Pride'' in 1959 when I was 14, after I had seen the film of the same name. What a true Heroin your Mother was, it makes you proud to be British. During the early Sixties I visited the Village, Salon-La-Tours, where your Mother was involved in a gun battle with a German force. A farmer of about 60 or so at the time told us about how Violet had single-handedly kept the Germans at bay until her ammunition ran out. He also told of how the Germans kept the villagers in their homes after the gun battle to cover up the number of ''Les Boches'' that had been killed too. It was the top local news topic for years after it happened too. Rousing

Comments I read the book about your very brave and beautiful mother,''Carve Her name with pride'' by R.J Minney. I also saw the film of the same name too when I was about 14. Such courage from somebody so young, too. To think that Violete single-handedly kept that German force at bay for so long. It makes you proud to be British, I truly wish I had known your Mother, what a Hero!

Comments When former London Mayor Livingstone's case involving The Evening Standard, was in Court No 2 in the Royal Courts Justice on National Poetry Day 2006, the poem written by Leo Marks when he was in charge of codes at SOE came to mind. Violet Szabo was the agent given this code poem before she was dropped into occupied France in 1944. THE LIFE THAT I HAVE The life that I have Is all that I have And the life that I have Is yours The love that I have Of the life that I have Is yours and yours And yours A sleep I shall have A rest I shall have Yet death will be but A pause For the peace of my years In the long green grass Will be yours and yours And yours I interacted by visiting the public gallery after arranging an advice session at the RCJ Advice Bureau with regard to my own individual Football Against Racism in Europe (FARE) JUSTICE NOT VENGEANCE FOCUS. Violet Szabo gave her life in the fight to free Europe from Nazism, not so that the odious NF/BNP could use the Old Addeyans FC/Densi

Comments I saw the film "Carve her Name With Pride" when I was about 10. I grew up fiercly proud that my country was what it was, free, because of women and men like Violette. As early as 10 I was determined to honour her memory and those like her by upholding that freedom she bought with her life. I took a commission in the RAF and served 10 years. Thank you Violette, you are never forgotten, you are always honoured.

Comments I have always been in awe of Violette and other members of S.O.E. and have many books. I recently visited the Museum in Wormelow and had the great pleasure of meeting Miss Rigby M.B.E. I have the greatest admiration for Violette her courage and bravery makes one feel so humble. I also purchased Tania's book Young Brave and Beautiful. What an amazing book. Tania the book is beyond words, what better person to write it than yourself. I hope that I shall meet you at Wormelow on the 26 June 2011. I am in awe of such a wonderful and brave lady who gave her life with others for peace in Europe

Comments I was inspired to look up Violetta from a video game i am playing "Velvet Assasin". You so rarely hear about the courageous women who put their lives on the line for country and family. She and other women like her should recieve the commendations tjey more than rightfully deserve. May God bless her spirit, her family, and all who supported her. Thank you Violetta!!!

Comments Tania has done a real service to those SOE operators who are now dead and mostly forgoten. The courage and fortitude of the SOE personnel, particularly the woman, is incredible to behold. They knew that the enemy would give no quarter, yet they continued with their hazerdous missions knowing that only brutal privation and torture would follow their capture. God bless them and may we remember this in our prayers.

Comments Which also reminds of the equally "Young Brave and Beautiful" siblings, Hans and Sophie SCHOLL from the "White Rose" anti nazi student movement at the Munich University, likewise executed for merely protesting against their Country's evil regime. Namely for editing, mailing and handing their prinded leaflets, to anyone who might join hands to restore democracy.

Comments Dear Tania. My mother was a WAAF at Tempsford who drove the crew out to their aircraft. She often saw men and women in strange uniforms and costumes being driven out to the waiting Lysanders and Halifax to be dropped into France and Germany. I have always loved the film Carve Her Name With Pride. How proud of her you must be.

Comments I have seen the film'Carve her name with pride' many times and cannot express how much respect I have for Violette and Etienne. It is such a shame that they never returned to have a life together with Tania, but they are both reunited and am sure they are very proud of their daughter.
