Comments I'm 70 years old, a veteran os five years in the army. I'm having problems with congestive heart failure and a-fib, and have been in the hospital over ten times this past year. I have no immediate family and am considering applying to a vets home to live. How do I get an application to one near New Orleans? Also, my scooter, which I have had only eight months has broken down four times already, and this time it has been down over three weeks. The lady I spoke with at the VA informed me they have done all they can do. I also found out the scooter was a second-hand scooter, which is why it keeps breaking down. How can I get the VA to repair it?

Comments I am a disabled veteran.I was told to contact DAV to make sure I have all that is entitled to me from the VA.I must plead ignorant,I always thought DAV was only for veterans wounded in war.My friend told me that was not true. The DAV will help all veterans to recieve everything that they deserve. I have been a disabled veteran since the early 90's.I am 20% disabled.I would like to be evaluated by the DAV,To be sure I have all that is entitled to me. I also hope I am not to late to be re-evaluated.
