Very cool website. Looking forward to spending much more time exploring the various pages and links. Glen has been extremely generous with his time and expertise in helping me on a transciption turntable restoration project that I'm undertaking. I can see from the site that his interests are wide and varied. Much appreciate the help and support from him and his excellent site!

Very neat website! Combination of amateur radio and audio materials are very interesting and quite educational as well. This site works well to preserve the memories of Mel Blanc and several others. Keep up the good work as it is truly a labor of love!

If this is the Kim who makes custom records you have an amazing web site! You have an interest in everything I do plus a lot more. I've been in the electronics technical field for over 30 years and now retired but still get persuaded to restore a few antique radios, receivers, and amps. I think I know a friend of yours (Justin in Macungie, Pa.) I'm not sure where you are located but if ever in the area the DVRHC (Delaware Valley Historic Radio Club) has a 2 day free event in Kutztown, Pa. twice a year that is now one of the largest in the east and includes just about all your interests. I think I heard one of your 1 off 45's, it still sounds great and the juke box counter is maxed out at 100 plays. Your machine sort of looks like an old Fairchild lathe and Grampion cutter head. That "rare 45 minute record" was very interesting, that applies to this very day, good find! I was wondering why all those good old cartoons vanished and you nailed it..political correctness. Glad I saved a couple. Anyway, you've got a fan in Pa. Dave

I worked at the Sylmar office for a year I think in 1977. Dry strange office. Mr Newcomb didn't believe in electronics. We used manual typewriters, manual adding machines, and used an old trunk telephone box with 6 cables.

I was truly fascinated by the video on the making of player piano rolls. I used them as a child way back in the 1940s because the girl across the street happened to have one of the instruments. I have seen one or two non-operational units since then but none of truly modern manufacture. Thank you for the presentation.

Hi, I have a Newcomb "Tr-1625" player with a blown speaker. I'm looking for the "ohm" value needed on a replacement 12" speaker. Interesting site. I accidently fell into a hobby of collecting electron tube and testers. It started by way of my interest in older guitar amplifiers.

Hello. I came across your site from Russco Turntables.com. I have been in the audio hobby for well over 25 years. I am an electronic tech by trade. 21 years in the AF electronics. I have restored several reel to reel decks like Teac's and the like. You have much to offer and will be taking the time to get to know your site. Thank you and have a blessed day.

Enjoyed exploring your site over the past couple hours & listening to your neat recordings! I found your site through a link from www.russcoturntables.com since I was doing research on Radio Caroline, which used the Russcos. Although I'm only a college student I am fascinated by old technology and the history of it's development: Audio, records, tape, hi-fi, quadraphonic, broadcast radio, shortwave, DXing, amateur radio, TV, videotape formats, you name it... also really interested in the history of phone phreaking & analog telephony, the Bell System days and collecting payphone numbers (i.e. payphone-project.com). My Dad has ac #$@%! a collection of 2100+ cassette tapes of self-recorded classical music from the radio, some of which I've digitized. I also host a weekly classical radio broadcast on WITR-FM 89.7, where we have a 60,000-LP & 40,000-CD collection. My favorite vehicles of all time are the classic air-cooled VW Type I ("Beetle") and Type II ("Campervan") (see thesamba.com).

Love your website, lots of things here from "the good old days" !! And intresting subjects about electronics from yesteryear... For instance, the story about TITANIC made me believe that there was/is defenatly WRONG... Please keep expanding your website with more of related items ! I will be back for sure.

I wish I knew my grandfather before he passed. I was 7. He would fit right in here. He was the first person to implement police mobile radios west of the Mississippi. He worked for the Oakland (CA) PD and my Mother said he made almost all his components by hand. She remembers him winding capacitors, coils, etc and all the hundreds of tubes he had. I have a couple photos of his early PD mobile installations overflowing the trunk with still huge radios up front. And the generators and batteries they had to run! It still must have rubbed off on my as I made my career as a Systems/Networks Engineer (electronics) in Telecommunications (Call Center) and finished as the IBM USA SME (subject matter expert) for Call Centers with IBM. No longer working I got my Ham Tech then General tickets and am just getting started. Trying to find a way to afford my first HF rig and room for antenna(s). Probably not very different from how all Hams get started. Well, LOVE all the subjects covered here. Obviously a lifetime of passion.
