My first trip to the Green turtle Inn was back in 1977 with my family. My dad took us all ther for dinner. Our waitress stumbled with her tray and a salad with Blue Cheese Dressing slid onto my brothers head. He was about 12 years old and so embharased. We all got a laugh out of it. Many years later I surprised my hisband with a trip to the keys for his 40th birthday. We planned on stopping for lunch but when we arrived the Green Turtle was all boarded up and my heart just sunk. A few years later we returned with our family to find that the place had reopend. We have only had breakfast there in recent years but it is our first stop in and last stop off the island each time we are in islamorada. We will be down in Feb 2014 and plan on trying dinner as well as breakfast. The shrimp and grits are to die for and the blueberry pancakes are the best. Thanks for keeping the memories alive.

I've been going to the Turtle Inn since 1981 - I sort of miss the old building's ambiance, but the food is still terrific! I recently dined there & they had taken the Thai Mahimahi fingers off the menu - our waitress asked the chef if they could make them & they made them special for me. What service! I have just one request - bring back the mahi fingers! Love this place!

Hello Tony, We just got back home to Cleveland from our vacation in Islamorada at the Cheeca Lodge. We were thrilled to discover your two restaurants, Kaiyo and Green Turtle...We dined at Kaiyo three times in one week and Green Turtle twice. You are doing a fine job! The service was awesome on each visit. The servers at both restaurants are, by far, the most professional and friendly in Islamorada (and probably the entire Keys.) Our family was happy when (another Islamorada restaurant) lost our NY Eve reservation and we were able to dine at Kaiyo instead. We enjoyed that you offered your regular menu and did not force a prix fix upon everyone. The food was great. I really like the menu at both restaurants. They offer enough variety so we could visit multiple times in one week. Also, Kaiyo does a great job of combining sushi with a full (non-Japanese)menu. My husband and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary on 10/10/10 with a 10 day driving trip to Key West. Quite by chance on the streets of South Beach Miami we had an encounter with a hotel vacation package salesman who turned out to be from Key West. He recommended we stop for lunch at the Green Turtle Inn. He actually called his wife to verify the name so we wouldn't miss it. Although he didn't sell us a vacation package, he did sell us the Green Turtle Inn.... Just because it seemed adventurous, we decided to check out the Inn. We had our anniversary lunch there and we couldn't have made a better choice. The atmosphere was fabulous. The food and service were wonderful. What a great place! We didn't have to think twice about having lunch there again on our return trip. It was much less busy on a weekday than it was on the previous Sunday, but atmosphere, food and service were again fabulous. We had the same waitress! If you are local you need to try this place! Our catch great dinner Chef Dan, We spent 6 days in Islamorada recently. Our friends went out fishing and catch 3 beautiful dolphin. We picked your restaurant for dinner that evening. Just wanted to thank you for an amazing meal. You prepared our catch 4 ways: Ala Roxie, Onion Crusted, Francaise, and the special of the day which was a Capt. Morgan mint.
