Comments I have been gone from LIHA for 15 years now, but served twice as secretary (once under Georgia Edwards, and the last under Alan Robinson just before moving here). I am a Granny Manning, and was present for the first children's award (in honor of Stillwater) Would love update on the organization. I have heard that He who gave us the land has passed, and that Jane no longer lives on the Res.

Comments I have enjoyed the Labor Day Powwows for years. I have noticed in the last few years the amount of people attending has dropped are we advertising enough or do we have more competition ? We use to have story telling and more people dressed in regalia . I have never been to a L.I.H.A Powwow with not enough people for a grand entry. It was sad to see people waiting for the dancers to take pictures after the grand entry . The drums the MC and other people involved did a great job filling in . I just wonder how we can bring the people back to this great event.

I was VERY glad to be accepted to the Pow-wow after having done it yet being in Florida for 5 yrs.We just closed on our home after moving 3 other times this year & i have a-sciatica on one side & other wanting to go happening so back is spent.I am sorry for waiting until the last moment yet thought it would get better then time went TOO fast.THANK YOU ! & hope all goes awesome!!! I will miss seeing all of you & was so looking forward to it!

Comments "Learners" weekend is upon us,June, 4pm-friday 7th till 12noon Sunday the 9th. Camping welcome,$10 fee.I put a plea out to all our members to do there best to attend and get involved. This is the 1 time a year we get a chance to learn from each other as well as pass on a craft or skill. So i ask people with a skill or knowledge of a craft,willing to instruct a class on Saturday,to meet with me at the snack shack Friday(7th) evening at 7pm to discuss a possible schedule of events for Saturday.Also all summer long i am asking members to help with a local food bank by bringing in a non-perishable item every chance they get,drop-off with Jim Knight(President) or simply stack neatly in sign-in shack.The snack shack menu during this event will be simple...hot dogs,burgers with chips and drink.Hope ya-all will come and enjoy the weekend.
