Comments this is a great site! my husband (age 61) and I (age 51) live on the beach in Dar, where we both work on public health projects. While here, i am living out a lifelong dream of being the captain of my own boat (1967 Westerly 28.) It is lovely for me to read about another woman captain, and hear about the process you both went through. I have bookmarked your site and plan to spend many more hours reading about your cruising on sea and land (since we too have considered an RV...) thanks for all the effort you have put into this wonderful website!!

Only a few select have a chance to experience what you both have experienced in your voyages. Thanks for allowing us who dream of the same voyages to share them through your writings. W.A. Foster

Comments Found a real affinity with your site. I especially enjoyed your Cruising section. I'm newly retired and waiting on my wife retiring from teaching so we too can go cruising. We are currently negotiating on a boat which we think will be ideal for cruising and your site has provided me with lots of things to think about and plan. The internet is a fascinating place especially with people like you around to fill it with interesting sites. I'm going to register for your seminar as I believe the global situation needs action urgently and I don't want my grandchildren to point a finger at me an my generation saying "you did nothing".

Comments I'm just about done riding those all night freight trains, and looking forward to a decade of cruising. Thank you for your inspiration about life after the 'old grind' as well as understanding how compassion might lead to healing the illness of US foreign policy. Tom

Comments I feel that I am headed the same direction that you folks have. I am looking all the time for the boat that will take care of myself and girlfriend I hope one day to get too that point at which you have achieved. Do you feel that having the smaller boat too start with helped in setting you on your way. I have been looking at a smaller boat and trying to decide if it is the wright way to go.

Comments Liek many others here, I just happened to stumble across your sight. It has been very useful, thank you. I am still young but very adventurous. My friends and I drove from Daytona Beach, Fl. to South Fork, Colorado last summer and that trip put a lasting impression on my life. I can only hope that someday I will have the opportunity to hit the road and see all of the amazing scenery and life you have come into contact with. I will continue to watch your travels. Thanks again.

Comments You have a very nice web site. So much of what your site covers is the same as my interests. I'm looking at retirement in about 10 years and I'm dreaming about cruising when it arrives. (Though I'd like to start small soon, so I'll be ready.) This past October, I spent the whole day at the Annapolis SailBoat Show just dreaming about what could be. Your photos really make the site. I'm also interested in RVing, though not in something big. I like birds although I haven't done birding yet. My mother was from Nova Scotia and settled in the Boston area. Good luck with everything, including your latest venture. Your website got me to submit comments which I normally don't do.

Comments It's so nice to "run into" you again. My wife and I read, with great interest your "C" website. We were saddened a bit when it came time to sell the boat and retreat to a life less..demending? Anyway, thank you for your writings. You have a similar way of looking at the world 9 and the unsustainability of the American thing) as we do. So often we feel alone. My wife, she has a name Elisabeth, and I are in our planningstage. We will retire early in 3 years and intend to sail our 41' Swan to Europe. (Elisabeth is from northern Germany.) We expect to be out 5 years or so. We just did the Baha ha ha this year. You may have seen our photo on Lectronic latitude (Oct 31) (We dressed as Fidel and Che at the kick off.) Anyway, thank you again for sharing so much with us. Best wishes always, Rod and Elisabeth

Comments What a great testament to the fortitude that can be inspired in ones senior years. And the entire site is an absolutely superb account of your travels. Although I am several years away from “finding the courage” having a boat at the dock and a heart of an adventures spirit, your encouragement makes a dream seam all more realistic.
