Comments Hi Gordon Donald Dinnie participated in the 1882 Caledonia games in my hometown of Lucknow.He has been promoted as a proud example of our Scottish heritage on the Lucknow memorabilia ever since.In 2010 I was commissioned to build a full size statue of Donad Dinnie.His whole body is made out of 1500 feet(450 metres) of wire,with a copper kilt and tam.You can check out the making of him on our website www.greyoxmeadows.com and the comemaration of him @ saugeentimesdonaddinnie.He proudly stands on a very large field stone in a putting the shot stance in Lucknow. I will be in the Edinburgh area from Sept. 9-17,hope to look up some of Donald's interesting history. William Dickie

Comments Many things happened today. I went to the Highland Games here in NH, for the first time( been wanting to go for almost 30 years. I was chastised for dancing well without wearing a kilt, at Abanoch and the seven nations-So I bought my first kilt. I nearly attended a stone lifting class, but it was canceled for rain. Then after some dancing and not winning a bagpipe raffle, it was time to go home... it was pouring. Knowing how well wool weathers water, I fumbled and flailed my sweet new Scottish blanket over my head, and suddenly an asian family asked me to take a photo of them with a gentleman in fine Scottish garb. Then I came home to learn more about the highland games and what I'd need to begin training for events. I just finished "Stone Country" for the first time... No wonder that woman was so eager and insistant one getting a photo. I just thought "Wow, this lady is crazy. She didnt even ask me if a would... what entitlement these days. Cant even get a please." The whole time, I didnt know who you were in the lifting and

Comments as promised gordon, l checked out the dinnie stone page, it is coming along, will give you a shout when we are ready to go lift them again, one of us will walk with them, that is a promise, what do you think of a publicised dinnie stone challenge, for later on next year, an open invitation to all strongmen/women ?. we are away on saturday to meet jack shanks- how cool is that!

Comments Hi gordon happy new year to you just looking at the postcard pic's noticed you got another good one of Dechmont the house in the back ground is the old Bankend Cottage which was partly knocked down in 1999 because the gable end was ready for coming down but the workshop is still in use today

It’s bittersweet to see you guys carry this out and make a trip of a lifetime together that you will always remember. I’m so proud of all 3 of you, not only have you built a lot of strength but the relationships that have grown is even better. There’s no failure in that!! GET EM’ UP!
