Comments I grew up in Reading PA, and remember playing at or near the Pagoda often as a child. We sometimes hiked over to the fire tower, and played all over Mt Penn. Sometimes we hiked and played on the Neversink Mt also. We also played in all the city parks and roamed the city freely.

Comments I always wanted to visit the site and showed my wife many pictures of it from the internet. Since I am retired now, there shouldn't be any more excuses of not going, and maybe we can perform Japanese Music at the top. I was born in Philly in 1945 and spent a lot of time in Japan and Korea. I would like share their culture with America.

Comments I'm in allentown now but I was born and raised in reading and I been to the pagoda many times. The best memory is me and my friends riding our bikes from moss & greenwich St all the way to the top of the mountain in a hot summer day and hanging out at the pagoda. And then the ride down was the reward, coming down the mountain full speed seems like a suicide mission now but as a kid it was a great rush of cool air on a hot day. Also hiking the trails to the top and climbing the peace sign was fun too. I don't care what's said about the city, Reading is a place I'm proud to be from!!!

Comments Loved the Pagoda as a kid and now I can pass the love of the occasional hike and visit onto my kids. Dad always promised to hike to the top with me and I made the same promise to my kids which has been fulfilled. Its all 'bout creating fond memories in life.
