Comments F-4 WSO at Udorn RTAFB Sept73-Sept74, took early out in 75, went into USAFR 1985 into 94th Civil Engr Sq. then represented AF Academy and retired. Still in uniform some playing Taps at the Chattanooga National Cemetery. Would love to hear from some Black Widows, if you ain't a widow you ain't ____!

Comments I was in the 16th TFS at Eglin AFB, Fl. from 1967-1969, flying the F4C,D, & E. My squadron deployed to first Kunsan, Korea in April 1969 as the 421TFW after the USNavy airplane was shot down by North Korea over the Sea of Japan. We were actually on our way to Da Nang, but after landing at Hickham we were reassigned to Kunsan. At the end of June 1969, we redeployed to our final destination, Da Nang and spent the rest of our tour with the 366TFW.

Comments Was a front seater in the 421st from May of 73 to May of 74, Udron. Was accused numerous times of being the phantom Sack Man. Went on to Seymour Johnson for a couple of years, was in the 335TFS. Left Seymour for Langley AFB,was in the 71st TFS. Departed the Air Force in 79, worked for Continental Airlines for 2 years, got furloughed, moved to Jackson, Ms. have been here for the duration.

Comments Was a pilot in the 421st Black Widows 73-74. Then to Seymour Johnny 74-77, Langley in F15 77-79. Separated AF in 79. Retired in March. Worked with Dave Erickson in scheduling and had a few Scotch's with Billy Joe Kyle. I think about that year a lot, it was a great experience in my life.

Comments This is a wonderful site. My father, Charles ("Chuck") Edward Franklin is listed as one of the members of the squadron who died in Vietnam after being shot down on August 14, 1966. I was born three months later and never met him. If any of the remaining members of the squadron have memories of him, I would welcome the chance to learn of him.
