Comments I worked in the Orderly Room of the 421st TFS while it was assigned to McConnell AFB in Wichita, Kansas. Major Barnett was Squadron Commander and Captain Huisenfeldt was the Administrative Officer. I noted where both of these gentlemen have passed away. I was released from active service in October 1965. A good friend of mine, James Lopez, also worked in Admin with me. I would love to hear from him.

Comments The 421FS is hosting an all-era reunion at Hill AFB, UT 29 Apr - 2 May. We have booked rooms at the Hilton Garden Inn in Layton. Events will include golf on Friday followed by a social at the squadron, local tours on Saturday followed by a Dining Out at the Davis Conference Center that evening. Hoping to see several different groups in attendance.

Comments I am the first of Lt. Col. John E. Malone, Jr.'s five children. Dad was a fighter pilot and part of the 421st that flew out of Korat from about August 1966 through February or March 1967. My brother Paul has kept in touch with several people like Dave McNeil in keeping the flame of our fathers' accomplishments alive. Thank you for maintaining this site.

Please remember that if you want to attend this years' reunion on Oct.18th (Sat)and you have not received a "Save the date" post card;You MUST contact me via Email or "Ma Bell" (830-685-3237) befor Sept., when I send out the "official" invitations. Other wise I won't know who is invited,how many are comming or where to send the invitations to... This is the 4th annual reunion to honor the ftrplts of the 421st(1965/68) and their fellow comrades who were stationed in Korat. Our previous reunions were wonderful and enjoyed by all! Patrick, (Bob Phillips grandson) and I had a great time at the US Air Force Armament Museum (especially with the F-105 exhibit) yesterday here at Eglin AFB as we stay and play here in Fort Walton Beach, FL. We really missed Bob as we walked past all of the former planes that he had piloted, as he would have had story after story to have shared with us. Looking forward to October and to returning home to Texas Wednesday night. Steve

Comments I was at Korat Jan66 to Jan67. anyone remember 62-4395? My mig killer in May Maj. Fred Tracy shot down mig15 and was injured and brought 395 back with 120 holes, I could stand up in the hole in the left horizontal stabilizer. took 6 weeks of hard work before I could run the engine. Took 6 test pilots before #6 said if I can get this bird in the air and it goes wrong I'll punch out. Came back 6 weeks later new skin and paint. I have a photo of 395 loaded for a mission in the revetment and scab patches can be seen.Now there is also tail munber 123 majo Kenneth Blank was flying and shot down the first mig-17 by a thunderchief just 213 rounds. 123 had the red star with 213 rounds, Major Blank painted left side of cockpit for I put it there. 395 was sweet, seldom had defects (on initial status a lot)one pilot scoffed at zero defects until he returned from mission and agreed 395 was free of defects,but also had to throttle back for the rest of the flight could not keep up. You had to be careful with 123 for he would hurt you. I was install
