Comments Hello Scotland,My ancestors(Ker,Carre and Kerr)were from Kirkliston,Dalmeny and Ecclesmachan of West Lothian and probably Kelso/Borders before(16Th-17th century).I am particularly interested in confirmation of Kerr family in "The Battle of Ancrum Moor, 1545",vs King Henry viii,where our motto,"Late but in earnest" was gained.An email friend would be fun. rtk

Comments I grew up in Viewpark, Lanarkshire, Scotland and knew of the Douglas family from when I was little. They didn't teach Scottish history at school, we were too busy learning about the Romans. Such a pity. My Father was into our local history, so I learned quite a bit. Nancy Holmes

Comments I have been filled with such emotion at the writings and pictures on your site. I am, I believe, a descendant of one of the three brothers who fled to the Haugh of Dollar in 1503, William, James, and Thomas, sons of the late Thomas Douglas.They changed their name to that of their parish, Dryfesdale.( Drysdale )I have been trying to find more information but as yet have'nt been successful. My Great Grandfather,and Grandfather were born in Airth. I am facinated by your site and intend making it one of my favourites, and ofcourse buying your books.
