My then wife and I met Mr Yost following a brief concert at a second-class run-down racetrack. Quite sadly, people pretty much ignored the group quietly under the canopy. But the music was just as enchanting as it had been when it was spun from AM radios of so many years earlier. Dennis was completely approachable. His conversation with us was genuine- absolutely from the heart, not superficial. Here was this GENIUS, asking us what artists we liked! In the era of ultra pretentiousness, it was so wonderful to see a musician who remembered that music was supposed to be fun. Godspeed, Dennis. time: 2010-05-08 10:18:14

I loved Dennis Yost's voice. He always seemed to be wearing his heart on his sleeve. Dennis was very good reading and understanding a lyric. I still the listen to the recordings and have shared them with my children. I'm sorry that I was never able to see one of his concerts, but his voice and music will be heard forever. There are those special,unique voices through history that will never be forgotten such as Roy Orbison, Gary Puckett, Steve Perry, Freddie Mercury to mention a few. Dennis Yost will always be mentioned when a serious discussion of unforgettable vocalists takes place. His music is as fresh today as it was 40 years ago. One of the Classics IV CDs never leaves my car. It's between my Beethoven and Elvis, right where it should be.

Came aware of The Classics IV through Spooky, Stormy catched my full attention and Traces has in my musical taste ever since it was first played on the radio, been the best popular song ever recorded by any artist as in any version. I was just a kid of about 8, but I remember this song and could sing along. I miss the old songs and the sense they made. Nothing lasts forever and nothing is like it was when a person is a kid. Miss you David Yost and the Classics IV!!

Listening to some Classics IV this morning and reminded me of how much this music meant to me. I was drafted into the US Army in April of 1969. I was married bbeer and ended up being sent to Vietnam and the songs of The Classics IV were always with me. Stormy & Spooky were my wife and I's favorites and we included the songs ( and others ) in the tapes we would make and send to each other. Dennis Yosts voice was like a trip home to me. Thank you for such great music and for helping me get through some very difficult days !
