I loved every minute of helping with the registration and the finish line... even in the rain, you could feel the 'energy for the cause' all around! Put me down to volunteer every year to come! Comments I too had IPT as a child. I was diagnosed at 3 (platlet count of 13,000) and still have vivid memories of many trips to dear, sweet Dr. Palmer for numerous platelet counts. I also spent many days at Children's Hospital in Birmingham. To this day I still can taste the prednisone pills that I chewed everyday because, I couldn't swallow a pill yet. My face looked like a little moon pie but, I was one of the lucky ones that went into remission, never to have it return again. I am 43 now and Thank God for allowing me to live my life to the fullest. I am so sorry for the loss of your precious daughter to this dreadful disease that most people don't even know what it is. I commend you for your efforts to raise awareness and hopefully one day a cure for all that have this disease will be found.

Comments I'm thrilled to see there is a way to raise awareness of ITP. My daughter was diagnosed when she was 2, and we had never heard of it before. We had 6 months of complete terror. She is almost 10, but the fear never ends that every time she gets a big bruise, it's something worse. My sympathies for your loss, and may your efforts create knowledge and understanding among parents and medical professionals.

Comments Gave my speech today for Toastmasters about Casey's Cause. Won the blue ribbon and the trophy. Several told me in written evaluation notes that the speech made them feel like they know and love Casey too and now know about ITP! I know at least one donation was made and others promised. May your legacy live on, little Casey, and May your light continue to shine thru all of us whose lives you have touched.

Comments I am heart broken I am for you and your family. Casey was a beautiful girl and I am beyond sorry for your loss. No one should ever have to suffer from ITP. I just got diagnosed with ITP in November and decided to share my story. I will be planning a walk and donating money to PDSA.
